Philips go gear sa3245/97 not starting

You can download content to a Philips GoGear multimedia player using Windows Media Player or MusicMatch Jukebox in Windows. Earlier versions of Windows starting with 2000/ME and XP are compatible with GoGear. If the device is not recognized by the Windows XP operating system or is receiving error messages, you may have older versions of the necessary software installed. There also may be firmware issues with the GoGear device.

Instructions

Connect the Philips GoGear to another USB port on the computer. Sometimes USB ports go out, especially those in the front of the computer case. Try inserting the GoGear into another port and see if XP can now recognize the device.

Download Service Pack 1 or later for the XP operating system (see Resources). Philips GoGear can only operate on XP systems with at least Service Pack 1 installed. You may also receive an error message pertaining to the service pack when trying to insert the installation disc for the GoGear support software.

Install the latest version of Windows Media Player. Philips GoGear requires at least Windows Media Player 11. Windows Media Player 11 is available for XP .

Install the latest version of MusicMatch Jukebox (see Resources). Earlier version of this software may be causing error messages regarding missing MP3 tag information and missing tracks. Follow the download prompts, then unzip the folder and click on the "HDD_xxx.exe" installation file. The latest version of the software will be installed.

Install the latest firmware on the Philips GoGear. The actual firmware required depends on your GoGear model. Open either Philips Device Manager or Songbird, depending upon which management software you are currently using. Close all programs on the computer except for the Device Manager/Songbird. Connect the GoGear to the power supply and the computer. Click the "Repair" tab in the Device Manager and click "Repair," or click "Tools" in Songbird and select "Check for updated firmware," and the firmware will be updated on the GoGear.

Hi there

Make sure you are using Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10.

Also make sure you have installed Musicmatch Jukebox from the product CD.

The PSS110 is not compatible with Vista or Media Player 11.

If you have Media Player 11, then uninstall to roll back to version 10.

Also, you need to make sure the player is showing as "GoGear" and not "Removable Drive".
If Musicmatch shows the player as "Removable Drive", go into the options menu and click devices. Click the dropdown menu showing "removable drive", and select "GoGear"

Cant put tracks on gogear as musicmatch not compatable with vista help

There is a new version of the software for this device on the Philips website - www.usasupport.philips.com - let me know if this works for you - just added within past week.

If it fails to resolve the issue, reply to me - I have a few other ideas.

Philips gogearhdd065/05

Try transferring with Windows Media Player instead - see if the GoGear icon appears on the left hand side of the WMP screen (while the GoGear isp lugged in). If it does, then you can transfer and delete songs through Windows Media Player.

Sony philips mp3

PSS110 is only compatible with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10.(Even though Musicmatch is used to transfer files)

If you have Media Player 11, then uninstall to roll back to version 10.

Check that you are not loading protected (DRM) tracks. If so delete these tracks and load a non DRM test track.

If this doesn't help then try the following:

Check that Musicmatch is recognising the player as GoGear, and not removable drive n: (Where n: can be any drive letter)

If it is showing as removable drive within Musicmatch, then go to the options menu. Select devices. Click on the dropdown menu, click on GoGear, then apply.

Install and run Philips Device Manager fro the product CD. Use the repair option to format the device, and free up the space taken up by the un-recognizable tracks.

Musicmatch will then put the tracks in the right place and update the playlist.

Phillips pss110/05

hello, i found the original cd that came with the mp3 player, uninstalled musicmatch and pss device manager, disconnected from the internet and reinstalled everything on the disc. i then reformatted the device and had to go into settings on the portable device option in musicmatch and selected pss 110 rather than flash. the device works now although i had to select the 'add' from portable device rather than sending to it from musicmatch jukebox.
hopen it works for you. you may have to keep selecting the pss option as it seemed to re-set itself as a flash device a few times. john
