Archos 5 Media tablet

it is an android tablet so all android info would relate to it.
you can download games from a couple sources, you could download the amazon app store, (google it from the tablet) there are also a number of other app stores (AppBrain is another).
If you want the official android app store youre going to have to work a little for it.

another option is to look up any game (ex. angry birds) in google + .apk
"angry birds .apk" download one from the tablet and open it then hit install.
you could then google various other games that way.

Hello wilko1974, This has been an on going issue for Archos 5 users. The new youtube supports flash 10.1+ and the Archos 5 only supports 9. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a clear cut solution for this issue. Archos has not released a firmware update for this and with their new devices it there support for older devices has lowered. I have found that choosing the lower play button that appears over a video plays on Archos more often than the top button. I would recommend trying this and seeing if you get better results. Another possible solution is to open the video in a new window with the link on the top right of youtube video. This however is not on all youtube video pages and with the currently layout is on accessible when the video submitter enables it. It also help to have the latest firmware updates that can be done directly on your device. Hope this helps, Greg

Chances are the video was recorded from the other device and can not be played on any other device.

that is because it it incompatible with the version of flash that is used by the archos. unless archos change that with a future update or iplayer suddenly becomes more backwards-compatible in the future then don't expect this to change.

its probably because you dont have the most recent software on your device you should go to your websites device and try to figure things out.

you will most likely have to wait on the release from adobe in october for that to happen.. in the mean time you can install the google market on the archos and then install opera mini web browser and it will allow you to watch youtube videos.. i found that to work best for me.. opera mini can only be found in the google market for android download though.. i tried several times to find it before but i never was able to get a download link for android...

A) Download the firmware from Archos and save it to your desktop (Make sure the file name on the desktop hasn't changed from the original download file name)

B) The Archos 5 or 7:
1- Plug the unit to you computer via the USB cable.
2- The unit should start automatically and open the following page:
3- From the recovery console (the screen that asks for repair or format etc…)
4- Select "Repair" by scrolling up and down with the volume control on the right of the unit (Do not press "Format" at any time)
5- Now that you are on "Repair" press the on and off button, shortly to validate your selection
6- The unit will go to "Plug the unit etc…" but it is already plugged from point 1 - DO NOT press anything anymore on the Archos
8- Wait until Pc should recognizes your Archos (around seconds)

C) Computer
1- From your computer select the firmware file you downloaded from the net and put it in your Archos (in the root folder, nowhere else, where it has the folders, music, videos, pictures etc… as a file)

D) On the Archos 5 or 7
1- Select "Ok" on the Archos (on & off button) shortly to select and confirm the file is now on the Archos
2- you are done! The Archos 5 or 7 should now read through the file you have transferred and repair the system
3- DO NOT DISCONNECT the USB cable until the process is finished
4- when done safely disconnect (as you usually do, for Mac trash the letter of the Archos to the bin or for PC's: right click the green icon bottom right of the screen for xp & vista)
5- Press on/off button to reboot

Your unit should restart with a fresh repaired, updated system like day one.

The Archos 5g should have 3g access to get on the internet as long as you get the Archos through a service provider. Where are you located?
