    Try this.

Open up the control panel and click on the System icon.

    Click on the hardware tab.

Then on the Device Manager button.

    Click on monitor icon

Double click on the monitor itself.

    Click on the Driver tab.

    Then click on update driver.

You will have to tell the system where to look for it.

That should take care of it. If you have already tried this, let me know.

If It works for you, let me know that too.

Sometimes feedback is not given, and I like to know when things get fixed.

My PC runs on an XP Pro x64 system and has installed Plug & Play Monitor instead of my Acer X193W ....!! How can i install my Monitor properly on XP x64.... Thank you...

Unfortunately Acer has chosen to not support Windows XP any longer. If you go to the Acer website as follows:

http://www.acer.ca/acer/service.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&miu10einu24.current.attN2B2F2EEF=3751&sp=page15e&ctx2.c2att1=27&miu10ekcond13.attN2B2F2EEF=3751&CountryISOCtxParam=CA&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=719687231

Then look for the driver for your monitor. You will see that the driver only lists versions of the Vista O/S as those that will work with the driver. When XP is not able to load the correct driver the system will identify and load the driver as a Plug & Play Monitor. This means that you will be able to get some functionality out of your monitor. but you will not be able to get all of the resolutions that the monitor is capable of running. If you just purchased the monitor and were told that it will work correctly with XP, you may want to take it back to the dealer you bought it from. Failing that you will either have to upgrade your O/S, or give up some of the functionality of the monitor.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue. Should you need further information or assistance please do not hesitate to let us know.

I have a new Acer 22in v223w flickers

Check your power supply. IF it is through a UPS then try connecting directly to a main supply. If problem persists then look for a ACer service center immediately. There might be a problem with the panel.

Acer V223W monitor goes to sleep and doesn't awake

Go To Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. Select "restore my computer to an earlier date". Look at the LIST of Restore points. Find the DATE when this "Security Update" was installed and Select the last date before it was installed and Follow the "Wizard" to Restore it to BEFORE the Update you think CHanged Things. Too many variables to figure out without seeing it to determine what was changed but that will correct the situation and you will not loose anything.

Drivers for the Acer LCD monitor X193W under Windows XP Pro.

The acer LCD monitor is plug and play. You don't need a driver. But unless you have a graphics card that supports at least 1440x900 you have problems. Also if your card has a div connection, use that instead of the analog connector, The monitor comes with that connector. Use the old one to connect a second CRT monitor if you want. Don't connect both to the lcd monitor and to the computer unless you are using a second monitor. Like everything these days, every purchase seems to need an upgrade of sorts, On board graphics **** anyway. Buy at least a 128 MB graphic card with a digital connector and more RAM never goes astray.....
