When I turn on My Whirlpool Accubake Gas Oven, it will ignite and heat up to the tempurature set, but it wont sustain the heat properly and cool down. If I restart it, it will reheat, but still not sustain. The broil works fine, but not when it is in oven mode to sustain temp. What would be the problem, can i order the part to be fixed by myself.

Yes, you can fix this yourself very easily. You need a new temp. sensor. Here is the part to order. There is also a video on that same parts page to show you how to make the repair.

SOURCE: whirlpool gas oven sf315pemb1- oven not heating

Hi, It sounds like the ignitor has gone bad. Remove the floor panel in the oven and locate the ignitor fastened to the burner. There should be 120V going to the ignitor harness.
If you have voltage but no ignition, change the ignitor.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: Whirlpool gas oven won't heat to proper temp.

The oven has a temperature sensor inside. The sensor tells the oven when to go on and off. It may need replacement. The sensor is protrudes from the back left wall of the inside of the oven. Make sure that it is fully plugged in and that it is not covered with any goop from the oven. The other things you can check is that nothing is obstruction the heat. That means NO foil or coverings on the bottom of the oven. It blocks the heat vents and can damage your oven. Underneath the floor of you oven, you will find the gas jets. The flame should come out blue and steady. It it is sputtering and orange, the little holes might be blocked. Clean carefully.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your input. It was very helpful. Unfort. we had to replace the entire oven due to several problems."

You may need to replace the part called the igniter module. It is what creates the spark that fires the gas.

My Whirlpool accubake is taking a very long time to heat up

It is possible that the igniter that lights the gas is getting weak... as they weaken it takes longer for them to heat up hot enough to ignite the gas. When you light the oven, you should be able to see the orange glow of the igniter within a few seconds (it's similar to a cigarette lighter from a car) within 20-30 seconds you should hear the gas light.

Whirlpool Accubake Super Capacity 465 gas range. Oven won't light

I just had my ignitor replaced. The ignitor glowed but it must pull a certain amount of amps before it will allow the gas valve to open. Once the ignitor starts glowing the gas should come on within 30 seconds. Now that I saw it done I realize it was something I could have done myself. Be sure the tech does not try to slip you a used ignitor as mine tried.

Whirlpool Accubake Super Capacity 465 gas range. Oven won't light

Some gas ranges may take 10 or so minutes to light.
Other than that you may have a defective glow bar ignitor.
If it glows and does not light the reistance in the ignitior has failed.
