I am pretty confident that the fault in my fan oven lies with the fan unit itself. How easy are they to repace? I'm no expert but I've replaced motors etc in washing machines so if it's a case of bolt in & block connectors I'm confident.

The electric element has blown a hole in itself and is grounding out.
The fan has failed and grounding.
A wire connector to either has come off and grounded, or worn through and grounded.
The thernocoiple works off the saftey device .so if its shutting off the coming back on then the fault is with the saftey valve letting gas pass in the off postion . Check with range master to see if there is a recall on this model . or ask for a replacment stove .
Unfortunately, it sounds like your heating element broke. Suggest using an ohm meter to make sure of that before you replace.
The good news is that element is pretty easy to replace and not very expensive either. Just make sure to trip the circuit breaker BEFORE you attempt the remove and replace.
