I have Nokia N95-2 8GB H3G UK Its Firmware Version is V 30.0.018 23-07-08 RM-320 © Nokia N95 (93.02) when i go to "Settings" then open "Phone" then "Network" then "Network Mode" its just showing me "Dual Mode" & "UMTS" and its not showing me "GSM Mode" while other nokia phones do which is sold out of the Uk something like that so now my problem is that i want to get that option on my Cell Phone cause My battery life is low with Dual Mode I want to make it to GSM Mode! can anybody tell me what to do ?

try to flash again, with another firmware version or same, because this happen when battery charge is low during flash. that kill mobile. so do it again, if problem persist try to press *+3+green button+power on button hold pressed up to say insert sim. if problem persist that mean you need give some repairer to full flash with flashing box.

What firmware updater are you used ? I think that you have not try this

First download and install Pheonix from this link. Nokia Phoenix Service Software 2011 - Download secondly Download flash file from this link Rm 578 file/Rm 579 file(There are two types in this phone,just select what is written on your phone) and install it to C / program files/pheonix.. after finished this installation open pheonix . Inside the interface at the> top left <there you see "File" click there and choose "open file" and then select the approprait Product type i.e "which is written on the back panel inside the battery of every Nokia(Type RM-000).After doing this again at the left top count from "File"1..2..3..the 4th one is "Flashing" press there, when you click there you'll see three sub-menus, just select the "Firmware Update" again you'll see another interface. Look at the product code there should be blank and put your "mouse tool" at the straight end from the "Product Code" there is a Button and choose the code which is written in the back side of your phone. e.g CODE:0000000.if the same code does not found just take one which is higher. After this you can see "Dead phone USB flashing" click that box. Now this is the last stage... 1) Check your version on your phone by pressing *#0000#
You will see your current softwareversion (currently probably 10.something and that's why you are on this page). The model probably is N97 and the type RM-507.

It is also important you have already installed the PC suite.

2) download the new firmware via Navifirm

Run it (start-up takes a while, it retrieves data from the internet) and select the version that you want to download. Make sure that you know which firmware you want to download.
A list of all the product codes (and the ones which are already updated can be obtained here)

3) Store the files that you have downloaded in following folder:
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-507

where RM-507 is equal to the code that you retrieved in step 1

You now have possession of the part that you need to upload to your phone!

To be able to flash this on your phone you need toinstall and get J(ust) A(nother) F(lasher) working

Download JAF version 1.92.62 here, and in order to get it working download OMG JAF PKEY Emulator v5: here

version 1.92.62 does not know the N97, so 1.92.64 can be downloaded. You don't need the .exe file just the .ini files. So download JAF version 1.92.64 here and only put the .ini files in the directory where you installed version 1.92.62

When this is done, open OMG *** PKEY Emulator v5. After pressing go without changing any setting you should get JAF running.

You first get an error message that Box drivers are not installed. This is OK as you don't have a box. If you get a query regarding installing new drivers keep the ones you currently have (those you got when installing the OVI suite and they are perfect)

Press BB5, now we need to tell the programm where to get the new flash files.

First select: dead USB (even if your phone is still working)
Manual flash , factory set and normal mode.

If your phone is still working you can press .ini when it's connected. It will automatically know where your You can do this by connecting your phone and press: use ini, or when it's dead press the buttons MCU , PPM,CNT and APE one by one.

Also make sure you click the option: Change also product code and uncheck CRT 308.
Now make sure your phone is switched off and battery is in! Now take out the part that goes into your phone untill the program tells you to switch on your phone after you pressed FLASH.

I am inclined to agree with you but if the manual is not near by. It is the serviceprovider who is the best bet.

To be abble use GSM mode you need to change your product code and get rid of 3firmware,which void your warranty and you wont be abble acces certain services (Planet 3) . You'll need programm called NSS to change your Product code.

You can get the PUK code for your phone through your cell phone carrier only.
