Dishwasher not drying

No they don't do they. Even if you don't use "Sanitize" or "Air Dry". The water doesn't get that hot either if you haven't noticed. With the new "replacement" machine, even after it's done I can't touch the dishes for several minutes. But the LG made that little jingle indicating it was done. There must be an easter egg somewhere that tells the machine to dry. Whatever you do, go and buy Dishwasher Booster, whether your store carries "Affresh" or the Oxy Clean brand, use it every cycle with your washer. You'll thank me. Your problem probably isn't listed under troubleshooting either is it? Just hang some paper towels or a dish towel nearby and expect to dry your dishes when the machine is finished washing them.

Normally it shouldn't! If the heating element is getting warm enough to dry your dishes then it should dry the water off all but the bottom of the dryer. Can you tell if your heating element is working - as in getting your dishes dry? If not, then you might want to do an ohm check of the heating element to make sure that it has opened.

Some dishwasher noises are normal, like the hiss of water rushing through the water inlet fill valve, or the hum of the pump motor, or the slosh of water. But if your dishwasher is making strange sounds or is unusually loud, it's time to investigate. A thumping noise could be the drain line vibrating against the cabinet; a grinding noise could be caused by a popcorn kernel being stuck in the chopper blade area of the dishwasher.
The CL is normally indicated child lock has been activated.
Dishes typically dry by the end of the dishwashing cycle, with one exception-plastic items. Because plastic doesn't retain heat like glass, ceramic and metal do, you'll almost always see drops of water on plastic items after the cycle finishes. Rinse aid helps water drain off all dishes so they dry better. Make sure that you fill that rinse aid dispenser when it's empty. A heated dry setting also is an option to enhance drying. You may have this option turned off to save energy, but if your dishes aren't drying as well as you'd like them to, you might want to consider turning it back on. Consult your owner's manual and select the cycle options that fit your needs and your energy usage goals. If your dishes don't get dry even though you've selected the heated drying option, then the heating element could be broken or the high-limit thermostat for the element may have tripped in error, preventing the element from heating. Check the front control panel for a AIR DRY / HEAT DRY switch. Perhaps the switch is in the AIR DRY position. If so and you really want to HEAT DRY your dishes, set the switch for HEAT DRY.
Second, it is not a bad thing to let your dishes AIR DRY. It saves money! Just open the Dish Washer door after the last rinse cycle has finished and let the dishes AIR DRY manually. In a hour or so they can usually be put away.

If the element is burned out, the dishes won't dry properly, and you need to replace the element. Hello, I've got a suggestion and at first it may sound like I'm pulling it out of my...left field. I'll tell you the what and then I'll explain why. Try this, take a rag or paper towel and soak it with "rinse aid" AKA, "jet dry" and apply it to the top of the tub and to a lesser degree the sides as well. I suggest this to all my customer's with new dishwasher's. Now the why...all dishwasher's require assistance to dry your dishes, some more than other's. Hence the need for an additive such as jet dry, it is simply a wetting agent which help's the water run off the dishes and as a result they dry better. So why put it on the tub ? Glad you asked. The reason is exactly the same, on older dishwasher's that have had many year's of use the tub has already built up some wetting agent on the tub just by normal and continued use, the new obviously has not. The only jet dry the new one has is the added amount in the dispenser. Over a short time of regular use the unit would start to dry better on it's own, this just speed's up the process. By adding the jet dry to the tub you create a seathing action allowing water to run off before & during the dry cycle as to not have water in the form of condensation dripping back onto the dishes when the cycle is complete, which leaves you with dry dishes as opposed to wet dishes. can you tell me please if all the dishes aren't drying or just the ones on the top rack. i am assuming you have selected the dry at the control panel, if so, you may have a burned out heater element in the bottom of the dishwasher or a non functioning thermostat at the heater. let me know if I can help you further.
