SOURCE: toshiba tecra 8200 power problem

The power button is on the LEFT side of the computer, under the Ctrl key, slightly closer to you. It is covered by a sliding door which slides BACK to open and expose the push-ON button.

Hi, try pressing the ESC button during boot up, this will allow you to start in safe mode, from where you can change your passworg, via the control panel. (Sometimes its the Del button on sertain machines)

the power pack or the battery needs to be replaced

chrck the out put of the power pack with a volt meter to see if the output is fine
if so replace the battery
Radio Shack will test the power pack for you if you can not
