Just cleaned printer (toner leak)and put in new drum and toner cartridge. Duplex printing had been working perfectly, now doesn't. First page (really page 2) prints and gets fed back into the duplex tray. The duplex tray, however, can't spit the paper out to be printed on the other side. The sheet of paper gets stuck in the duplex feed and the paper jam light goes on. Tried a duplex tray from another printer (same model) and got the same result. The bottom paper tray set properly and rollers appear to be in OK shape (I wiped them all down with a damp cloth, just to be safe) and I don't notice anything unusual with the new drum/toner cartridge. Single sheets print fine. What else can I try? (I use duplex printing extensively.) Any suggestions appreciated.

I don't suggest refilling cartridges as I work on printers every day but seems to me that you have done everything correctly the only thing I think you have done is either filled with incorrect toner thus giving a incorrect reading or when moving gear you have dislodged the pin that activates the reset procedure.
Thanks J

If it's the same as the Brother 4070 you go into printer proerties (press properties next to printer selector after sending a document to print). Choose the advanced tab, on this tab near the top are five buttons with icons on, the second one shows two pages with A and B on, press this to access the duplex and binding options. In there change from "flip on top edge" to "flip on left edge"

Sounds to me like the toner - that is the toner cartridge has the wrong toner in it. The drum should be OK - clean it up first and then use a genuine toner cartridge OR you can buy our refill kit on eBay - search for Brother HL2040 - michellem6123

I am referring to a Brother HL 5250DN Laser Printer. If I'm not mistaken, the C6200 is an HP printer. I don't know of any "Duplex Unit" in the 5250DN's properties. This "solution" has nothing to do with the stated problem.
Update: The duplex printing now works. However, whereas prior to the start of this problem approximately two months ago, I had close to zero misfeeds, I estimate that I get between 5%-10% misfeeds--which is not acceptable. Two faint ink lines (which must be produced by the rollers--though I don't know where the toner is coming from) run the length of the page, approximately 1" off each edge. While my problem has been mitigated, it has not been solved. I'd appreciate it if John Tuminaro would elaborate on why he thinks a new fuser would solve the problem. Thanks.
