No video from an Apex digital converter box to TIVO
I can see video from the Apex box on an old pre-digital TV. The channel scan worked. I moved the box to the TIVO with the same coaxial connection but see no video. TIVO appears to be changing channels.
I didn't know the TIVO box has that switch. I'll look for it tonight. In various attempts I have used the video cables. But since the pre-digital TV can't use them I wanted to use the same type of connection that worked on the pre-digital. Reduce the variables.Use the three cable or Svideo? I found that cable in my scrounging for solutions. Also, I didn't mention that the TV that TIVO is connected to is a Samsung SmartTV. Does that have anything to do with the problem? Universal 4 digit remote codes to try for your Digital Converter Box: 1903 1563 0581 5096 ... APEX Digital Converter Code = 0519. ARTEC Digital Converter ...
Analog to digital converter is for OTA transmission. You are using a cable system, right? If so you have to feed into your Tivo the cable output signal from your cable box and set your tivo to correct rf or video input. Since cable tuner is determining channel all you can do to record is set the channel on your cable unit and program your tivo to turn on and record the input at appropriate time..
Digital signals don't come from antenna. They come from the internet, or from a digital satellite receiver.
Then when you get the digital signals, you have to pay the provider for the channels you want to receive. As long as your provider does not know and did not sell you any channel you wont be seeing one.
I use an RCA box. Never had any problem.
How far away are the television broadcast antennas?
If they are farther than 40 miles, that may be the problem.
Hope this helps
Yes,this tv is an analog tv,free air tv channels are all digital now.Tries walmart,Target stores, might still sell these digital converter boxes. Not,tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com they still sell these converter boxes.
Where is the "no signal" coming from, the converter box or tv? If tv then unplug the dvd player and plug the plugs into the converter so the wires go from the converter into the rf modulator. set the tv up to watch dvds and try your channel scan gain. If it works then post again and we'll figure out the best way to connect the converter and dvd to the tv.
