I have a brand new Uniden BC125AT radio scanner. With no known input from me, the screen is now reading "SCAN MODE ALL LOCKED!" simply after turning it on (turning it off and on will change nothing). Additionally, when I press the "Hold" button twice, it will read "ALL CHANNELS LOCKED OUT!". The Owners Manual say absolutely nothing about these two problems, other than to instruct one to hold the L/O button down to unlock, which in this case does not work. My expensive scanner is now useless. How can I fix these problems?

press the manual button a few times, and make sure there are actually some freq. programmed into the unit. if there are freq other than 000.000000 in there, press the s/s (lockout) button and see if this unlocks the frequencies to allow them to be scanned.

SOURCE: channels locked out

Mrs. Santa brought me a new PRO-97 yesterday. I'm new to this - just wanted an aircraft frequency scanner, but got the whole shameal. I had a bad AC adapter and attempted to fix the power problem as directed in the manual by re-initializing the scanner. That blew all memory away.

I received the feared All Channels Locked Out message and through a little research and fiddling, realized the scanner was pre-programmed. An Addendum came with the scanner with instructions to reload the 155 pre-programmed frequencies:
1) Turn off the scanner and then turn it on again.
2) When 'Multi-system Trunking Scanner' appears, press PGM.
3) Press 1.

This will reload the pre-programmed frequencies erased by the re-init. Press scan and it'll be as new as outta the box!

Best wishes,
Farnk

foursons, have you tried resetting the scanner yet. On pg 47 it mentions about turning banks of channels on or off. Possibly some banks got turned off. Resetting the scanner starts on Page 53.
I hope this helps somehow, and good luck with it,, Mechanic

Try a master rest:
If the scanner's display locks up or stops operating
properly, you might need to reset the scanner.
Caution: This procedure clears all the information
you have stored in the scanner. Before you reset the
scanner, try turning it off and on to see if it begins
working properly. Reset the scanner only when you
are sure it is not working properly.
1. Turn off the scanner.
2. While holding down 2, 9, and Hold, turn on the
scanner. It takes about 3 seconds to initialize
and CLEAR appears.

I accidentally locked out a "grp" and need to get back into it

Not sure if yours works the same as mine, but simply pressing the number button of the bank you've switched off will put it back into the scan again. So if you a dash or "*" instead of say bank #6, simply press the '6' button while it's scanning and it will be back in the scan. At least that's how my old one worked. Let me know if it works for you too. Good luck. You can also go to 'radioreference DOT com' and there is a Uniden scanner forum there I believe where you could also ask your question. 73.
