Take it back and get a Makita or Millwauke Tools cordless screwdriver of at least 14.4V. B&D isn't what it used to be! Neither is Ryobi!

SOURCE: Drill bit won't in securely - Black & Decker DP240 Screwdriver

I am going to assume that the bit you are trying to insert is a 1/4 hex drive. If so are you pulling or pushing on the collar of the tool holder to insert or remove a bit. Make sure that the hex on the bit is not twisted also. Let me know and I will go from there.

My DS Lite wont charge! Help!

Try another charger, yours may be faulty. Alternatively,the battery may need replacing as it is no longer holding charge, these can be obtained very inexpensively from Ebay and you will just need a small cross head screwdriver to remove the cover on the back of the DS lite, then tap the unit in your hand to dislodge and remove the battery.

Battery Wont Charge Up. \r\nTo Replace Battery Cost $17.00 + Shipping WFT I Can Buy I New Driver For $24.00 Why Would I Want To Buy A Battery DUH

It could be a bad battery or charger. I bought a new drill with 2 batteries on sale for $10 more than one new battery. So I would just buy a new one, keep the old one around in case the new driver quits. Or if you use it allot, upgrade to a better brand. It's a disposable world we live in.

New drill batteries wont hold a charge also, Bought a new battery screwdriver, the charger has exploded within 1 week

Don't even bother to try repair either of them, Take them back to the dealer under warranty and make them his responsibility, If you try repair them the warranty will fall away.

Dremel Stylus 1100 7.2 volt wont charge when the

My stylus is doing exactly the same thing. l was advised by numerous people to change the capacitor in the charging dock, they also said that you can find youtube videos to guide you through it (the capacitor only cost a few cents when l bought it). I really should finish doing that job, although l did actually remove the 'screws'' from the base, l warn you- they are triangle and a nightmare to unscrew, see if you can find a triangle screwdriver BEFORE you start, or you'll end up doing what l did and destroying a perfectly good straight screwdriver!??. Good luck

My battery wont charge on my motorola rival i bought a new battery and it still wont charge.

Hello,

If your phone does not seem to charge. It is as a result of either the charger or the charging port.

To test if it is the charger;

Try to use a tested okay charger on your phone.
Try your charger on another phone to see if it would charge the phone.

If it does not work,then it is the charger.

All you have to do is to replace the charger.

Test if it is the charging port;

Try to use a tested okay charger on your phone,
If it does not charge the phone,

Then it is the charging port that has a fault.

To fix the charging port;
  1. get the appropriate screwdriver,
  2. remove the back cover, the battery and the sim,
  3. Then you will remove the stickers, you will find some screws at the angles of the phone, unscrew them,
  4. Run an object like a credit card around the line across the phone and apply a little force to separate the stainless part of the phone,
  5. You will have access to the panel of the phone,
  6. Try to locate the charging port of the phone,
  7. Disconnect it and replace it with the new you got for it,
  8. Reverse the process to reassemble the phone.
Take care

My old black & decker power screw driver will not accept a charge. I cannot get it charged up.

Black & Decker stopped doing battery packs for the older screwdrivers, like the 9018, some time ago so you cannot get them.

However you can still buy replacement NiCad, Sub C, 1.2v, tagged batteries that will do the job on the older 2.4v models as NiCad batteries for use in power tools are exempt under the European ban on importing NiCad batteries where used in power tools (Specific Exemption).

When you open up the screwdriver look at the positioning of the batteries and the tags/connectors and solder them together the same way.

So all you need is a soldering iron to join the centre tags together and then trim the end tags, top and bottom, to the width of the live/negative connectors and you have got a new battery pack.

It doesn't have to be pretty but after a small investment and a little effort it sure beats paying out £30 to £50 for a new screwdriver. I have done this for my older Black & Decker and Bosch screwdrivers which all work like new again.
