First, I'm not a GE tech * STOP! * Door opened should turn off all power except the display. This is a safety measure, * Unplug and DO NOT use! * Check warranty. Call for service. * Check with store or vendor for replacement. Aloha, ukeboy57
There is countless things that could be wrong with it. Microwaves are very complex devices. Have you dropped it or was the door slammed hard? There are three sensors on the door and if one of them isn\'t working properly then the microwave will not heat. Other things that it could be are the high voltage capacitor might be defective. The magnetron tube may have blown out. The thermal fuse could\'ve blown out. The main control board may be defective, the possibility a go on and on. You can look up the ways to tell what it could be but if you ask me it would way simpler just up buy another one but there is always a way to fix anything.
There is nothing more you can do, you have verified everything is working except it is not heating the food. The next step is have the repairman come in to isolate the cause.
1st check the temperature fuse ( item 1-3 on this diagram)
If fuse is good have the HV rectifier item 1-1 checked.
If both check out good the most likely problem after that is the magnatron item # 1-8
If the oven is STILL heating, but the carousel isn't turning, the symptoms you describe are commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft, turntable ring or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace the motor:
This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.
You can refer to any of the following websites for comparison:
The first three sites listed have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifying the part(s) you may need.
The average price for a motor is usually about $25 to $45 (U.S. Dollars). If your model number is not listed at all the sites, you may also try these sites that carry the Russell Hobbs brand parts: http://www.russell-hobbs.com/parts.shtmlhttp://www.directpartsandproducts.com/index.phpNOTE: Even though the carousel may not be turning, you can still use the microwave while awaiting parts. You will need to physically rotate whatever you are heating about midway through the cook time to ensure even heating. Early model microwave ovens were not equipped with a rotating carousel and this was the common procedure.
