SOURCE: brpther DCP 330c does not recognise new black ink cartridge

Usually there is more than one cartridge empty when you receive this kind of problem. Try opening the top cover and check if the display changes - it should change to specify one (or more) of the color cartridges as empty. That one(s) should be changed too.

SOURCE: unable to int.AF by brother 330c

most likely you will need to take it in for service.

the problem with the AF error indicates a bad scanner assembly or possibly a cable that needs to be reconnected.

Before replacing the flatbed unit, disconnect and reseat the CIS flat cable at the Main
PCB. This will ensure that the issue is not being caused by debris in the connector.

open up the plastic cover that goes from the back to the middle of the unit. it looks like the cover goes from top to bottom, in the middles it turns to the left. take that out with a small flat blade screwdriver, pull the cable out and put it back in.

make sure you do this when the unit is not plugged in.

thanks

SOURCE: I have a DCP-330C and the error message unable to

The error message "Print Unable 46" is an indication that the machines ink absorbers are almost full. The ink absorbers hold liquid and dried ink after it has been purged from the print head. These absorbers can control enough ink for the expected life of the machine.

There is a possibility that this message may have occurred in error. Upgrading the firmware of the Brother machine may resolve the issue. Follow the procedure below to determine if a firmware update is required:
-if the display screen is displaying an error message, press the STOP/EXIT key to change the LCD to the main screen.
-press the # and * key at the same time. The first 2 characters on the top row will determine the ROM version.

If the ROM version is OE or greater (example: OF, OG, OH, etc), the firmware does NOT need to be upgraded. If the ROM version is OA, OB, OC or OD, follow the procedure on this link to upgrade the firmware.

If the message "Print Unable 46" continues to appear on the display the Brother machine after completing the firmware upgrade and your machine is within warranty (even if it's not under warranty you have to do the same thing), you have to take it to a Brother Authorized Service Center. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/002600/000059/faq002659_000.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc290c_all&Cat=11

My Brother DCP 330C says " Unable to print 4F" What does this mean and what can i do to fix it please??...... Thank you Kindest reagrds Milli

Hi millih,

An error coded 4F means that there is a mechanical problem with the printer, usually, "unable to print means one of two things. Firstly an empty cartridge, secondly a full absorbing pad. I am guessing that the latter is not the priblem as the code would be #46, so if the ink cartridges are empty, get them replaced or refilled then disconnect the machine from the power for about 5 minutes, then reconnect and it should reset itself.

Sincerely

DCP-330C says Ink Empty, but after replacing a new cartridge it still appears Ink empty!

Make sure the inks are all full, you may need more than one replaced. If all have ink just hold the stop key while you power up and that error should clear.
