It's marked y-superscript-x and is just above the divide key.

SOURCE: Texas Instrument TI-30Xa will not work

Hello,
It cannot be a coordinate symbol (x is any variable ) because the calculator is not a graphical one. Press the [A/C] Clear All button and it will erase all junk in memory and display.
Hope it helps.

I need a carrot key calculator

Do you mean caret (^)? The function is labeled "y^x", on the key just above the divide key.

Why is it called the carrot key

It's not. It's called the "caret" key because on many calculators it's marked by a caret symbol (^).

Can i do sigma notation on a ti-30xa calculator?

No. There are some keys on the TI-30XA that may make you think so, but they are statistical operations. For example, you can enter values using the Sigma+ key and the TI-30XA can give you the sum of the values entered, sum of the squares, mean value, standard deviation and so on.

You cannot do calculations like "Give me the sum of all integers from 1 to 100" with the TI-30XA, you'd need a far more sophisticated calculator.
