I have a Blackberry Curve 8310. The central scroll button will not scroll downwards although it will scroll up and left and right. It feels as if it is sticking somehow on the downward movement.
Is there a way to reset this function or fix it? Or a way to take the button off and put it back?
I had a similar problem, and the only solution is to change the trackball which cost between $5 & $10 dollars on e-bay. An easy and cheap fix, it comes with the tool to replace the assembly. A kid can do the job
I realize this is many months later than you asked for help, but since I just now read it I thought I'd let you know I had the same trouble all day today. It is likely there is dirt under your trackball. Push down on it and try to move it downwards as you are pushing. It may dislodge the dust/dirt underneath. An alternative I used (when the solution above didn't work for me) was to spray a VERY SMALL amount of window cleaner on a paper towel. Wipe the moist paper towel on the trackball, moving it in all directions. That should dislodge the dirt and the trackball should move in all directions. Worked for me. Caution: don't use too much cleaner - don't get the paper towel dripping wet.
