Use ciss to printer, which we can minimize 90% cost when printing. Everytime purchasing cartridge always cost high because of cartridge package and its chip.

I left 10 ink cartridge a month or two ago and I don't see where I got any credit for them. I used my Office Max card and I wonder if that is why?

Where and How to Buy Cheap Ink

The aftermarket for printer ink can be a tricky place to shop. Third-party cartridges cost less than the manufacturers' brands--which is why people buy them. But it can be a lot harder to tell whether a third-party vendor sells high-quality ink products.
One time-tested method is to shop at an established retailer (online or brick-and-mortar) that guarantees the quality of its products. Obvious examples include office supply chains such as 123Inkjets, Cartridge World, Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples, all of which carry third-party ink cartridges.
But finding third-party ink for your specific printer model can be a challenge, particularly if your unit is very new, very old, or not very popular. Before driving around town to find the right cartridge, do a little homework online. At today's insane gas prices, you could end up spending $20 on fuel just to save $10 on an ink cartridge.
Like the online arms of other major retailers, Staples.com has an Ink & Toner Finder. Click the link for to find a decent assortment of third-party supplies for Brother, Canon, and Lexmark printers. If you find compatible ink, you can buy it online or check with your local outlet to see whether it has the product in stock.
If you're dealing with a vendor that you haven't used before, ask questions. A reputable online ink retailer will provide names and contact information for the ink manufacturers that it buys its supplies from.
When shopping for remanufactured cartridges, ask the third-party supplier how thoroughly it inspects used cartridges before refilling them. "Do they look for cracks? Do they test the electrical characteristics of the cartridge? A cartridge can look fine but have a broken electrical component, and then it won't work," says Tricia Judge of the International Imaging Technology Council. The vendor should also test the cartridge after the refill, Judge adds.
For our latest in-depth coverage of the pros and cons of printer manufacturers' inks versus third-party inks, see our feature article, "Cheap Ink: Will It Cost You?" and the related slide show, "Head-to-Head: Printer Manufacturers' Ink vs. Cheap Third-Party Ink." For additional advice on reducing the cost of running your inkjet printer, see "The Cheapskate's Guide to Printing," "Save Money on Inkjet Printer Ink," and "How to Spend Less on Printing and Get Better Results." Our digital photography expert, Dave Johnson, has written helpful articles on photo print longevity ("Digital Focus: Make Your Photo Prints Last") and printer paper ("The Paper Chase: Pick the Perfect Paper for Your Printer"). And finally an earlier three-part PC World series on the issues of counterfeit name-brand inks ("Bogus Ink Stink"), third-party ink quality("Cheap Ink Probed"), and high ink-cartridge prices ("Why Do Ink Cartridges Cost So Much?") provides valuable historical background and additional test results for various ink cartridges.

Want to clean my epson px660 after accidentally spilling some ink inside the printer

First - look for a YouTube video- a picturs worth a thousand words. The only real way to clean it is disassemble and clean and dry all parts, but since inkjet printers spray ink a lot of places in the printer normally, much of the ink may dry and cause no problems.
There are a couple of places that will need cleaning. You are going to be spraying water into the printer to do these steps, so I would remove the main circuit board, which is under where you will be spraying just to be safe. It is usually removable from back, but has a lot of cables atttached that need to be disconnected. Put the printer on a work table that can get inky, covered wth newspaper ( to catch any "drippings" that may sneak out-rather than onto the white carpet)
1.underneath where the printhead moves back and forth over the paper to make a print is a sponge pad to catch any o"overspray" and drain it to a big "diaper" in the printer bottom. If ink is all over this area- you can spray some water and let it drain into this sytem naturally. 2. the little rollers that hold and guide the paper will probably be covered with ink - spray them, soak up the inky puddles with paper towel, repeat and repeat. let everythng dry overnight, runnsome prints on cheap paper to soak the liitle inky places where you couldn't reach, but inky water is hidng, waitng for paper to come thru the printer- that's why we feed the cheap paper as a "sacrfice"

Everytime printer is turned on it prints a test page. Any ideas?

Hello

This may be long but I think its true Ok please read.
Yes it will do and why.
It cleans the heads every time you switch on and also prints out a test page so you can see it printing ok but you are going to loss lots of ink its made to do this, so it will use your ink up fast this is how they make there money not just by selling printers, it’s the after sales of selling there inks that they make there big money.

In some supermarkets you can even buy a printer for as little as £20 and most of us will think that’s cheap and will buy it, yes there will be ink in it but very little ink and when you go to buy some new ink for it your mouth will drop it will be around £15.99 for the black and £19.99 for the colour then you will think god that is £38.98 and is more than you paid for your printer in the first place, and some inks cost lots even more than that, so then we will say oh well I got to have to buy it or the new printer will not be any use.

They make more money on selling there inks, and inks are not cheap, so in a matter of time we all would have paid lots of money just for the ink.

Also every time it cleans the heads and makes a test print, have you ever thought where the left over ink is going it’s going onto a pad to absolve the waste ink inside your printer.

Think about it, it’s got to go some where and where does the waste ink goes it is screwed down inside your printer and when that ink pad is full the printer is going to gave you an error code number or it will say (waste pad full) and your printer will stop working, and they have not done it in any easy way for us to clean the pads out, the printer got to be opened up all with the screwdriver and also have to take some wires off inside and some printers not even got screws on them so it can not be opened so most of us will just buy a new one again.
I really not know why they not just make a flip lid on the printers so we can open and clean the pads out or replace them, but saying that then of cause they would lose out.
Mind you not all printers are like this but most printers are, and we all like to own a printer.

So next time you going to buy a printer try not to be in a hurry and ask them how much the ink going to cost you when it runs out and ask them if it dos a test print out every time it starts up and ask them about if and when the pads are full of waste ink is there a flip lid on it so you can open so you can clean the pads out or replace them I not think there will be any or any pads you can buy to replace, and I not think that they can gave you that answer there isn’t any they will tell you it will have a instructions book inside that tells you all need to know.

Yes I got a printer and I have learnt my lessons on buying printers so now I do look at them as much as I can before buying and see how much ink will cost me and yes it has a pad inside mine screwed down I have not seen one yet myself with a lid on them I think this is how they all are so we got to put up with it.

What I do I never turn off my printer so it will not do a test print every time it starts up, I always lave it on standby I find its cheaper it lasts longer and if I need to clean the heads from time to time I can clean the heads manually from the tools tab witch is in the driver when I go to print my docs.

Streaks on copies on Xerox XC1020 which is 12 years old.

My Brother has been whining about a drum for over a year now, and still printing just fine. As long as it prints good, I say ignore it. If it stops completely, see if you can reset the drum counter to get it going again. These companies just want to get us to toss our machines as soon as possible. Google drum reset for your machine if you have to.

Photocopier reads not install while installed during photocopyin

Epson and many other manufacturers are Chipping the Ink cartridges, they sell more ink that way. Many cheap generics either are not chipped properly or are just faulty, I even got a faulty cartridge from Epson. I got myself a CISS system with a Waste Ink Container. I have since saved TONS of money and will never change another cartridge. Here's where to get the best CISS available.
http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ BTW, I do a lot less cleaning cycles since using their ink.

Access door will not closwe.

I have the same problem and found it's a broken right back hinge. The plastic that holds the pin in place is broken and the spring underneath is preventing the access door from closing properly. Unfortunately, I had to take it apart to see it. If hp (or any other computer company) stocked these cheap parts, they couldn't make money selling disposable computer products...sad but true. I'll be looking for a cheap 3310 for replacement parts for mine...

Does not print after trying a compatible ink

I'm afraid your tech was right.

The reason he is right is a little known secret. To manufacture an inkjet printer is not necessarily cheap, but its not expensive either. Manufacturers count on the sale of overpriced ink to make up for the cheap 20-50$ inkjet printer that you buy in the stores. So even though they give them away free with computers and sell them for nothing in stores, they really nail you on the ink. These printers are a big pain to fix also since they are not made to be serviced, they are made to be used and tossed out thus they are more expensive to fix than replace. I can promise you that your tech probably has no idea how to even fix it anyways.

So my answer is, recycle this printer and go get yourself a new one. It will save you a lot of money and you will get an update in the process. Sorry for your loss.
