Can I leave the battery charger plugged in my Dyson dc 44 animal after it is fully charged?

Hi, I have a Dyson DC56 with a lithium battery for about 18 months and I leave it plugged into it's charger when not in use. I do notice the Dyson charger seems to switch off automatically when charged. I don't have any problems so far. It you have a Genuine Dyson Lithium battery and the genuine Dyson charger it should not be a problem. That is because Lithium batteries have very precise requirements for their charging cycles and therefore the correctly designed charger required to make them work safely is a somewhat intelligent design and needs to be of good quality in having to meet those requirements. So use the original Dyson Charger. Also most high current Lithium Batteries will also have a protection circuit built in further increasing safety and reliability. Just don't use cheap cloned Chinese made Lithium chargers, because you will never know if they have been designed or even will operate correctly.
Now if you have old technology Ni Cad (Nickel Cadmium), LA (Lead acid) or NiMH batteries with basic cheap chargers they should not really be left connected to a charger full time.

When I press the trigger the green light comes on but motor does not

Hi Peter, it's Jack at Dyson.

From what you're describing, it does sound as if your DC35 needs to be recharged. When the machine is charging, the LED on the charger will illuminate, but the LED on the machine itself will not. When the LED on the charger goes out, the machine is fully charged - this will take 3.5 hours from depleted.

Please try connecting your DC35 to the charger cord and allowing it at least 3.5 hours to charge until the LED on the charger goes out, then test your machine. If it's still not running at this point, we will need to talk you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine to hand. This will help determine whether there's an issue with the main body, battery or the charger itself.

When I put the battery on the charger the light on the charger stays on for little awhile the it starts to blink, but when I try to use the battery it is not charged. So I am not sure if I need a new

Hi there! It sounds like you have our Linx stick vacuum or hand vacuum model. Plug only the charger into an outlet, the blue light on the charger should flash once. If the light on the charger flashes once then the charger is fine. Try resetting the battery by following these quick steps below.

1. Remove the battery from charger or cleaner
2. Unplug the charger
3. Insert the battery into the vacuum and turn the unit on for 30 seconds (even if it has no power)
4. Remove the battery
5. Plug the charger into an outlet, make sure the light on charger blinks blue once.
6. Insert battery into charger

The light should be a solid blue, indicating the battery reset worked. If so, allow the battery to charge for 3-4 hours, completely deplete battery on your next use and re-charge. If the light on the charger is still blinking, your battery will need to be replaced. I have included a link where you may go to purchase a replacement battery if needed. Hope this helps!

The red light keeps blinking while I have the charger plugged in, is this normal?

Hi! If the light on the charger is blinking this can mean an issue with your charger adaptor. Check that the charger is still warm. If so, unplug the charger for a few minutes and plug it back in. If the light is still blinking your charger adaptor may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Why doesn't my battery charge? Why doesn't the charger's light come on?

Hi Suzanne! Follow these steps to check that your charger and battery are working properly.

1. Unplug the charger for at least 30 seconds.
2. Plug the charger back in. The blue light on the charger should flash once.

If the blue light flashes once this is an indication that the charger is still functioning properly. If the blue light does not flash, the charger will need to be replaced. Follow this link to order a replacement charger. LiNX Battery Charger

3. Place the battery in the vacuum and turn it on for 30 seconds. (even if it does not turn on or powers off)
4. Turn the vacuum off.
5. Remove the battery and place it in the charger.

If the light on the charger is solid blue this is an indication that the battery has been reset. Allow 3-4 hours for the battery to fully charge. The blue light will start to blink slowly to indicate the battery is fully charged.

If the light on the charger is flashing blue or there is no light at all this can mean that your battery needs to be replaced. Follow the link to order a replacement battery. LiNX Lithium Ion Battery

Hope this helps!

My roomba irobot 700 series is completely dead after being disconnected for several weeks?

I noticed that when I started disconnecting my charger after it had recharged my Roomba, that it didn't run as long later. So I think that the Roomba needs to be sitting on the charger with the charger plugged in. I would put your's on the charger for two days and see if that does the trick.
How mechanically minded are you? Can you get a voltmeter and check what charge is coming out of your charger now? Can you access the battery and use a voltmeter to check what charge it has?

Dyson dc31 won't charge

Sounds like the charger is bad. It is 24vdc output, so you can check with a voltmeter. It probably blew the fuse inside since it isn't lighting the green charge light. There are replacement chargers for this for under $20.

My iRobot scooba won't turn on after a full charge

Do you have the charger terminal, or do you have the charger that you have to take out the battery and charge. Because I have found that my base terminal charger works better than the battery charger that needs the battery to be removed to charge. If you have the terminal charger and the power light is green when it is in the charger I would start from the terminal
