Waste ink full

The waste ink reservoir is full how do I deal with it?

  • Anonymous Apr 14, 2008

he waste ink absorber is full.
Contact the service center for the replacement of the waste ink absorber.

The remaining level of the following ink is unknown.
    Color [24]
The following ink tanks are running low.
    Black [24]
There is a possibility that the printer cannot detect the remaining ink level properly. Reset the ink counter using the Maintenance tab of the printer driver whenever you have replaced any ink tank with new one.

Sign showing Waste Ink Absorber is almost full. What should I do?

It means that your well used printer has reached the point that it needs maintenance: your printer waste ink pads and reservoir need to be removed and cleaned/replaced AND the internal counter reset.

It is 'officially' recommneded that you take your printer to Canon prnter service centre but I think that buying a new cheap printer would be a cheaper option!

You an also try to maintain and fix the problem your printer yourself: resetting the counter is 'relatively' simple (by going to the Service menu) BUT YOU MUST clean the waste ink pads and reservoir or RISK A MAJOR INK OVEFLOW DISASTER.

If you want to do it yourself, just Google for 'MP150 Waste ink counter' ....

Hope it helps!

It says used ink jet full. I don't know what that means. All of my color ink jets are full and I can't even make them come forward to check them but I'm sure they are full. What is the used ink jet.

Used ink jet is probably something like the 'waste toner' cartridge in laser printers. Look in the manual for a reservoir that has waste ink somewhere. Hopefully it'snot in the ink jet cartridge.

What year, make, model printer is this for further research?

Spillbläck full? What to do

It means that the pad that absorbs the ink when the heads are cleaned is full and if you use it more it will spill the ink over your desk. The official way to deal with that is to take the printer to a dealer and they will clean the absorbing pad and reset the warning.
You can do both yourself:
1 - to clean the ink pad: remove the cartridges and unplug the combo - the carousel should remain in the middle, leaving the pad in the right side visible; take the printer to your sink and pour water over it thru a pipe (try not to splash it everywhere) until the pad becomes white and the water that flows out colourless; allow it to dry thoroughly (at least 2 days in a hot environment).
2 - Reset the Waste Ink Volume Counter
1) Press Menu + Copy + # to enter SERVICE MODE.
2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select 8 - PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3 - EEPROM CLEAR.
5) Select 0 - INK COUNT.
6) Press the OK key.
7) Press the Stop/Reset key (returning to the state of 3) and then press the ON/OFF key.

The waste ink reservoir is full from cleaning

You need to have a new drain pack installed, around $10.00 for the part. The job is best done in a shop since they have access to the service mode to reset the counter after replacing the part.

Triangle and ON/OFF switch both flashing. Window reads 'CHECK PRINTER'. What exactly do I check? Window had been reading 'WASTE INK NEARLY FULL' for a fortnight, but I couldn't find out how to deal with...

The waste ink absorber is getting full.
Press the OK button to clear the error.
Printing can be done until the waste ink absorber becomes full. If the waste ink absorber becomes full, please contact your local Service Center for replacement of the absorber and machine maintenance.

The waste ink absorber is a part inside the machine, which absorbs ink used in the cleaning operations, etc. http://support-nz.canon.co.nz/contents/NZ/EN/8000137103.html

Waste ink reservoir showing almost full

The appearance of being full of waste ink reservoir is common in all printing devices and hence it is necessary for all to know about the literal solution. It may be resolved by opening the ink cartridge compartment. But the outcome of this step may differ according to the model of printers. Thereafter you may take initiative for pulling the rubber frame and also remove the absorbing pad that is available there. If it is possible then keep checking the level of ink. Ink colour print problems

Ink that leaks out of the ink-cartridge when the print-heads are "parked" is absorbed into the "reservoir" tank. The tank is full. Get it emptied.

Waste ink near full

Well there WILL BE a reservoir on the machine that holds all the "waste" ink that did not make it to the paper. The message is refering to that reservoir. usually loacted in the inside of the machine downhill (as gravity goes) from the point of collection.
