Emerson ice maker not freezing ice, making small cubes and they are soft and mushy.. seems to not freeze ice solid and takes forever to drop ice

When was the last time you cleaned it by running ice machine cleaner through it. After a period of time algea, or slime will form on the chill plate where the ice is made. Sometimes its invisible to the eye, but it doesn't mean its not there. When this happens the machine will freezse the water, and when the ice tries to slide forward to the cutting grid, it catches on the chill plate. There are no sensors in the machine to tell it that this is happening and so the machine moves forward and starts running more water across the plate, which in turn runs across the ice caught on the chill plate melting it and using it as a ramp to fall into the bin melting the ice there as well. So, try cleaning it before taking any further steps, then if the problem persist feel free to get in touch.

I am not sure this is the right refrig. I have a model 253.78259800 top freezer with a model JD-21 ice maker. The ice bucket keeps filling up with a solid piece of ice. It makes and drops cubes, then water...

there s a adjustment but it only controls /like 1 to 2 oz of water . its prbably the ice mker unit or the water valve . .. ice mker tell water how long to let water in and if valve is bak it might not shop off causing water fill . change water valve first . then ice maker if needed .. icemker might have a bad tray and some cubes do not drop / if so next fill will over fill causing problem . mm

My ice maker is letting too much water go into the ice tray so it freezes in a solid piece. Cubes do fall down but there is so much water it freezes into a solid block

The icemaker produces small cubes if the water fed into it is not enough and lumped together if too much water is supplied. In order to obtain the desired size of ice cubes, the amount of water supplied to the ice maker needs to be adjusted. Adjust the valve supplying water to the icemaker or the unit in general in such a way that right amount of water fills the ice tray.

Ice maker dripping water fusing ice cubes

The dual water valve (solenoid) that open and let the water from the line when the ice maker calls for it, is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Water in icemaker overflows into ice cube storage box AND CAUSES ICE CUBES TO FREESE TOGETHER AND FORM BIG ICE CHUNKS. ALSO THE FULL SHUT OFF PADEL HAS ICE FORM ON TOP OF IT

Check the ice maker after it dropped the ice cubes and when it calls for water it should be pouring it for no much more than 7 seconds ,if more it overflows, in this case the module board inside the ice maker has to be replaced(or for almost the same price with parts and labor you can replaced it for a new ice maker) But if water is sitting in the ice maker all the time , the dual valve which supplies water to the ice maker is leaking and needs to be changed (it's located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover where the water line is hooked up).

Ice maker flooded top freezer compartment

It may be just the water control valve on back of refrigerator. Put tap water in ice maker and lower lever for on. After ice is made, does it drop to tray? At this time when empty is the time the control valve is asked for water. The problem could be in valve on back or the inside ice maker itself. If you can try a few test with me I will help you locate the problem. Let me know what you find as I go through this with you. Sea Breeze
