The first of four led lights FLASH ON and 0FF ON A970-G46 MOB AND MY POWEER SUPPLY TESTS GOOD. All componets work good on my 2nd identical MSI MOB. CAN THIS MOB BE FIXED OR MUST I REPLACE IT?

four led lights where are they? lost the manual? Desktop mobo.
MS-7693 (v2.x) Manboard
970a or 970S?
all led x4 status indicators. on mobo top
4 glow means phase 4 power level. page 32.

coin cell dead is #1 for all PCs over 5 year and for sure 7.
a dead mobo, bios screens dead, that it,????
what gpu card what monitor ?
all fans dead?
support for vista or w7 , so that?
bios HOT KEY IS <del> THEN F11 (BIOS II)?
2 MOBO 1 GOOD 1 BAD USING SAME CPU AND 1 STICK OF RAM.? same PSU>? wired same to mobo?
THIS MOBA HAS NO VGA IGPU PORT ON REAR SO MUST HAVE GPU CARD or there can be video ever.
and see bios.
and reset bios first and new coin cell first.
7years old that coin is and will be a pain now or soon. a $ 1 fix.
gpu card into top x16 slot?????
GPU card over 75watts must have gpu aux power wired to it or it will be dead, from PCl.
psu wired to JPWR2 ? must be. and JPWR1 both. or cpu will be dead.
that is about it , on this 2011 mobo.

Hp P6000 fans stop after 15 seconds. Hard drive light stays on. nothing on monitor

dead PC, DESKTOP PC ,as old as 2009.
the fans tells you the PSU shut off, for cause.
fans, so you saw all fans turn off or just 1. or 2 of 3.
my pc has 4 fans many have 3;
CPU fan stops ,cpu overheats , PC goes slow or dead. clean the lint off it.
GPU fan , video goes dead. if it overheats.
PSU fan is inside the PSU if it goes bad, PSU is bad.
no monitor stated, is it CRT or LCD is it 15 years old.
if the monitor is 2002 or newer the OSD screen works
even with PC turned off, press the select button see that OSD screen ? telling you the monitor is not dead in 1second flat;
i caN NOT understand why the HDD lamp glows,
if the PSU shuts off , most LEDs go dead, on my PC
the standby LED on the MOBO glows, unless you pull the PSU power cord.
your HP PC came with 9 different mobo, during its production run.
at least. so answers come harder from that reason.

here are some simple tests.
test 1
power on, hear fans run
does the DVD drive (or cd) button eject work,.?
do all fans not just 1 or 2 worK? look for all fans clean the lent out
or things will overheat,
PSU can be bench tested or in the PC case.
using a jumper wire, even the HP service manual covers that.

power on the PC (after keeping monitor on for 5 full minutes)
test 2
the Screen must say, "hit ESC key to enter HP setup" BIOS.
press the ESC key on the monitor
if no text shows up that is a dead PC< "text above missing{"
if the PC told you to hit another key do so.
The ESC key , activates the BIOS brain. this cause
all those pages to work as seen in your service manual;.
if BIOS is dead that is a bad PSU (monitor ok)
or CPU is overheated.
bad ram, take all sticks out and test 1 by 1, ask how. !
The PSU will shut down on up to 12 or more faults
but never shuts down the standby power bus. unless AC line pulled.
IF the PSU has fan as most do this is the first place I look.

Hannstar ACER j mv-4 doesn't start up

no pc stated, maker or model #,, sounds kinda DESKTOP>?????
no oS stated
step one is test the MV4 on a known working pc,!!!
why wait, this so basic....
are you using VGA to VGA or DVI to DVI connections??????

the DESKTOP,
no sound means the fans are dead and PSU dead.
The PSU will run for 1 second and fans run now. if not PSU is dead.
if fans do run and stop that means PSU dead or mobo shorts or bad reg on MOBO. or bad ram. strip it down to test that.

ok fan runs that means 12vdc good. if stay running,
and if PSU stays up, then NEXT TEST IS Screen
is it 100 % dead, or do you get text or logos."
100% dead means to me bad VGA card(or chip GPU)
if the Hot key for BIOS fails, that means bad POWER/
or bad VIDEO card.

the fans run but are silent, I envy you.. sell me your fans....
im 1/2 deaf from Vietnam and can still hear all my fans.

my DT has 4 fans min. (it's Alien-ware box++++)
CPU, GPU and PSU, and 1 case fan,all must work.
do yours?

when you power on a PSU, the fans run and stay running
if that takes sides off so be it, ever clean the 5lbs of lent seen inside from 5 years, collected?
If you dont service any pc, this packs up and the CPU overheats
and shuts its self down by DESIGN.
why no do that service first.
see that CPU, see those fins, see that pack up there.
blow it out, outdoors, using CAN-0-AIR

mine over heats my GPU fast with lent, my Graphics car runs super hot and fast and lent is NOT ALLOWED here. ever..

old pcs with slow cpu ,, tend to packup slower, well lets say
they can run longer with huge lent here. its just slug processor so...
that is what it does.

recap.
  1. fans all run.
  2. BIOS dead?
  3. screen dead. no words no text at all.
  4. MV4 tested on other PC works. proves PC bad.
  5. LENT PACK job. as all do every year here, all.
  6. Bad VGA caRD. or using wrong port if PC has 2 VGA jacks. !

Motherboard no power

In this order:
check PSU is working ( fans run in the psu), test with another psu installed,
See of there is a green LED lit on the mobo
Check capacitors are not bulging or leaking and there are no signs of burned circuit traces on mobo
remove ram and try booting see if you get power to the cpu fan
try bypassing the PW switch and touching the PW terminals on the fpanel header to eliminate swith problem.

If that fails, suspect dead mobo

I received a mobo and only the fans and the led turns on, the cpu get hot really quickly because i put my hand on the heatsink.... but all those little square chip next to the cpu where there are those...

2003 relic, seen in garagesales for $1 and useless as UGO car.
have your tech do that, and not blow up parts doing worn things./
smacks of bad PSU, going over voltage. or below, SSDD.
The CMOS coin cell is NO GOOD, replace it first, or BIOS goes MAD. !!!
the jumpers on MoBo must be set first. (next) all of them. per manual. the manual is fee and easy to find googling.
cpu put in backwards or bent pins cpu has gold corner pin 1 mark.
not using both PSU cables to MOBO 4pin and 24pin
the CPU has a fan , it can never be allowed to be missing or dead.

the free manual did you read it first. and ask a tech how to
set it up, and how not to hot swap parts.

nor send 230vac (no country told) to the PSU set to 115vac slider set wrong and blow it all to H3LL?
this trash mobo has VIA chip set that nobody on earth supports now.
XP era yes, now , NO !

using the wrong voltage AGP card blows them both up
as the manual warned you, did you read that" first.
best is AVOID AGP cards totally as 1/2 are not going to work ever.
worse no sata ports and no IDE ports.

other guy blew the card, in 2004 and sat forever dead. RIP
if mobo as vga jack rear of mobo (some dont) use that first
test with no cards in the MOBO at all.
the via chip set works in BIOS but will fail in all modern OS tried.
XP yes.

and quote
This motherboard supports Windows 98 to XP
redHat, SuSE, TurboLinux and Caldera operating systems (OS).

blowing it up is ok it has zero value good or bad. so is a wash.

Sounds like either you have a faulty memory stick, faulty CPU or CPU fan or a faulty Mobo..

My computer system after turning on, turned off. cpu fan on and then off. mobo led is green (p4b533 asus). power is good, and unpluged all devices but no change! is cpu dead?

your cpu is probably overheating
turn off the power and unplug the computer and all periferals.
it may be dirty or the cpu fan may be going out. open the case, clean the fan with a can of air and cotton swabs. do not allow the fan blades to rotate freely when blowing them with air by holding them in place (or the bearing may go bad). you may also want to blow out the rest of the case as well and remove each card to clean them with swabs and air.
it will be slow work, but it can save you wear and tear on the entire system by doing so.
put everything back together and try everything to see that they work properly. if the problem persists, you may need to replace the cpu fan or risk damage to the processor.
