I get: 'Unable to store voice name.' EVERYTIME I try to record a voice name. Used many names, many paces, and speak very clearly. Also the phone book entry IS stored on the PHONE not the SIM card. NOTE: The phone askes me to repeat the name. But after that just says it can't record. I deleted all pictures, and recordings, etc - just in case it was a memory issue - but still no go.

Have you selected an electronic voice? If you have a "standard" voice or have used a "celebrity" download voice, it won't give computed responses for street names. Go to voices, change voice and try a digital/electronic voice. If not installed, use TomTom home to download an electronic voice. Hope this helps
goto google.com and type voice recorder "your mobile name and model" and you will get the links to download voice recorder ------------------------------------------- Please let me know your feed-back.
If you change recordings on a voice mail box that does not change the settings for the mail box location. There will be a section to enter the name of the mail box owner (not a recording) and that is used for the directory.
I am not familiar with NEC voice mail systems but typically you can have different voice mails and different versions of phone system that all program differently. You should have an "administrator" guide for your voice mail so someone can make changes like this. I have no way of helping you find this and it will depend on your voice mail NOT the model number of your phone which can be used with different systems and voice mails that all program differently.
Open your phone book. Select any number you want to add a voice tag. Click Option (middle switch of phone). Then click edit. Now scroll down and you will find an option Voice Name. Select it and press record option from right side of phone. Again press record. Now say what you want to say. Again press reconrd and tell the same word with same speed. Now it will be stored. You can check it by opening your phone book entry against that name.
