R 615 and Horizontal Transistors D4927 short-circuit occurs

There was a short-circuit occurs at R 615 and a horizontal transistors D4927 on Sony TV KV-XJ29M50, its has been replaced and the result is : raster was alive but less wide and 2 minutes straight its standby again. I turn it on again, but its ON just for a while and then standby again. Please help, what is the value for R 615? Because the last R 615 was charred and broken up, I replace it to another resistor with 2.2 ohm. Is it oversized? Please help me. Thank you.

SOURCE: sony KV- XJ29M50 led flashing 2 time

  1. Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

UndefinedI've checked a Panasonic crt color tv model TC-21fj20p, and I find a hard way to discover the cause of the problem until now.. The set has a good primary voltage supply. No problem with the IC...

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Any short circuit at the horizontal output section circuit will shut down all the secondary SMPS voltages, as there is short circuit protection circuit to all Sony TVs.

My tv/ dvd player has appeared with a green line down the screen

There are two problems occurs on your TV, one is the line down the screen because of faulty horizontal deflection or faulty horizontal yoke winding. 2nd is...color of the screen are not balanced, check the RGB transistors in CRT board circuit.

When i turn on horizontal output tripping. B+ and low voltage ok

Hello
Check the LOT and Horizontal Output Transistor. If horizontal output transistor get shorted [collector to emitter or collector to base], this kind of fault will occur. Here there is nocollector to emitter short as B+ is ok. Check for collector to base leak. It is best to repalce the horizontal transistor with a new one, and switch on the Tv for a short while, say 10 seconds or so, and feel the heat of the replaced transistor. If it gets overheated, of LOT makes a whisiling of hissing sound, LOT is faulty, and shoul be replaced sith same type and number. OK.

When i put my tv sony trinitron on, i hear the sound for 15sec en then the tv go out en de leds blanks

Hello
There is some sort of indirect short inside your TV. It is in the main circuit board. Most of this kind of fault in Sony Tvs are related with horizontal output stage. You just replace the horizontal output transitor [which drives the Line Output Transformer] of your TV first. If the transitor is leaky, the above said falult may occur. If it doesn't help Line Output Trnasformer [LOT] may need replacement. Check whether the replaced transistor overheats within seconds or minutes. If it overheats the LOT is faulty. Ok.

SONY KP-61V90 tv will not power on, red light in front,

Its 2 times blink error code that shows +B volt supply (+135 volts) is shorted, most probably horizontal output transistor is shorted, replace it.
If you are good in soldering parts in circuit board then take out horizontal transistor, check it, found shorted then replace it with same number.

Horizontal output Transistor Q502 number is 2SD2578 and available in Part Store for $10
Let me know for further query, if any.
Thanks.

Sony trinitron won't power up.

usually the horizontal output is shorted due to loose connections on the transistor, driver transformer, or driver transistor. this will cause failure of 2 power transistors in the low voltage supply and open up a low ohm circuit protector. any reputable shop can repair this for a fraction of the replacement of the set. and the repair lasts.

SONY KV-36HS500 will not turn on. Stand-by mode blinks 6 times then repeats. Repair man checked out our phone system earlier today for signal loss and put 500 V generator on phone line to house to check...

the light blinking six times indicates a probable horizontal circuit failure usually a shorted horiz out transistors but this is not the only component located in this circuit that could create this problem, sorry but i am affraid you'll need to get a tech to diagnose it to the component level or get another pc board to repair it. hope this helps some.

You cannot use sub parts on sony use sony parts only. Same with hori output transistors. USE SONY PARTS ONLY.

No power.

Usually, in those Sony sets, a crack developes on a small transformer in the horizontal drive circuit, which causes the horizontal output transistor to short. This immediately shorts out the switching transistors in the power supply and blows the Sony 0.1 ohm resistor fuse. A shorted flyback (high voltage) transformer will also have the same result. The power supply does NOT need to be replaced. The parts should be replaced, the flyback checked and the board resoldered by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.

1996 Sony 32" Trinitron - Suddenly lost picture and sound

The most common problem with TV was the failure of the Horizontal Output Transistor, this will also damage 2 transistors in the power supply and a resistor in the power supply also. (From memory): Horizontal Output location # Q501, 2 power supply transistors Locations Q601, Q602, and resistor Location R607. Also solder the Horizontal drive transformer, you can find it by following the circuit board from the base of the Horizontal output. Some models used an IC instead of the 2 transistors in the powersupply, it will have six legs and check like 2 transistors. Good Luck.
