I downloaded FREEDELETE, but when I run it it does NOT see the SANSA portable player, so I cannot tell FREEDELETE to scan that particular player. It gives me only the options to SCAN drives C, D, and E...I cannot see the SANSA portable player...even though the player appears when I click (My) Computer - without running FREEDELETE!?

Yes, you have chances to recover the files from Sansa. And the first thing you should do is stop saving more songs to the music player. Then take a try of this data recovery tool as it is capable of recovering various audio formats including MP3, WMV and more. Best regards.
OK! You may try to use another data
recovery freeware to take a chance!
The deleted files are not completely
destroyed after the deletion process as we think. They are still there, o this
MP3 player. So, you should take chances with another deleted data recovery freeware: http://blog4mark.blogspot.com/2012/12/deleted-files-recovery.html
PS: Never try to save anything else on this player in case of data
loss.
While the data were deleted from mobile
phone, they are not deleted permanently. You can still get them back from the
memory card with memory card
recovery software. I advise you to use Card Data Recovery. It is a nice photo recovery program that can
help you recover data from all popular mobile phone memory cards. It has two
versions separately designed for Windows and Mac users. To see more detailed
information about it, you can refer to its official website: Card Data

Hello, cristianratz! Don't worry. I recommend you to use this photo recovery software (also recover audio and video files); it can help you recover your lost music from your Mp3 Player: Photo Recovery for Windows Users Photo Recovery for Mac Users
Kind Suggestion: Before your music are retrieved, do not save more files to the device (or memory card) in case the original files (your music) are overwritten. Best wishes!

Hi,
Well if you have deleted the songs you can not recover them in any way. What you can do is to upload new songs through your PC to your MP3 player.
Thanks!

First things first: DO NOT take any more recordings with the MP3 that you want to recover records from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of recovery.
Then Connect the MP3 to your computer as it should appear as a "Removable Drive" or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.
Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a data recovery utility that will recover your recordings with Wondershare Recovery Software from the following link:
You can try this software. The trial version will search for and display the deleted files. So if it shows the file you want to recover, you may need to buy it to recover the files.
To delete files directly from the Sansa player, follow these steps:
1. In playback mode, press the Submenu button.
2. Select Delete.
To delete music files using the computer, follow these steps:
1. Connect your Sansa to the computer.
2. Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial
connection.
3. Locate the folder where your files are stored.
NOTE: Music files are stored in the MUSIC folder. Voice recording files
are stored in RECORDING folders. Photos and Videos are stored at PHOTO
and VIDEOS folders, respectively.
4. Highlight and delete the desired files.
When you delete something from any disk it's not fully deleted until the sectors of the disk are overwritten with new data or formatted. If you haven't added any new data to your Sansa I suggest running a file recovery program such as File Scavenger.

This is a link to demo and but it will scan you Sansa and see if the file is still recoverable. You can either purchase File Scavenger or use a free file recovery utility. I haven't tried any of the free file recovery programs on Download.com because I purchased File Scavenger but good luck.
