Summary of below:
can you advice about a driver for DD5 for windows 2008?
----
I have a tape drive (IBM DDS Gen5 Tape Drive) connected to an IBM 3500 sever, and windows 2008 server
The tape drive was detected by windows, but not the media itself
Troubleshooting made:
Update firmware
UpdateExpress CD was used
Referring to this HCL of windows server 2008, we found out this tape is not compatible with Win 08
Would you please advice if there is a patch for this tape so it can be used with windows 08
Below are the hardware details:

thanks
I am pretty sure that the driver should be compatible with win08.
If you are using backup exec then try switching to use symantec drivers for your tape drive (setting withing BUEX)
If it is just the tape that cant be read or identified and was backed up using windows backup then try restoring the backup on a 2003 server and then copying the data across the network.
