I don't know if it is a M Word or a printer problem. When I print a page of text in Microsoft Word, every other line prints clearly on my HP 722C; the unclear lines are barely legible like there is a white line running thru it. When I printed my flight itinerary online from the website, it printed perfectly every line. I don't know which is to blame. Any ideas?
What version of Word do you have? What OS are you using?
Can you append a print to file to this thread so that I can see what data the printer is being sent?
Yes, I'd like you to append a failing document and a "Print to File" of the same document to this thread.
Actually, if you can't append them here, then send them to [email protected]. Or you could fax the pages to me at (757) 491-5023.

Good morning,
I still have not seen the scan of the document you sent to me.
Please resend it to [email protected]. Let's see if I can get it that way.
Also, would you mind sending me a failing document? Just attach the failing document to another e-mail, please.
Update:
I'm still working on understanding the Raster Ops implementation used by HP. I'm familiar with Lexmark's raster data stream, but not HP's. But I'll keep working at it.
Right now my suspicions are focusing on the print head or ink jet failure. Please bare with me.
Update:
I got an answer from an HP forum that confirmed some of my suspicions with respect to decoding the binary file being sent to the printer.
The printers that use this print data stream do not have any processing intelligence in them. The data is shipped from the application to the driver. The driver has the intelligence in to and renders the data to the printer as raster information. Now, all of the HP printers that used this datastream have been discontinued ans no new drivers were released by HP. For all intents and purposes, these printers are legacy only printers.
Now for the bad news! To the best of my knowledge, HP considers this type of data stream to be "Proprietary" because decoding the data file may provide insights into HP's color science implementations.
I'm going to check with some friends of mine from Lexmark to see if anyone ever did a white paper on this data stream. Given that I retired four years ago, there may actually be no one there to answer a question.

Solution, but I do not know how to enter the information.
Courtsey of HP forums.
It sounds to me like an issue with the cartridge rather than the software. I recall there is a very rudimentary test page capability built into the 720 series: turn on the printer. Press and hold the power button, then press the formfeed button 4 times, then release the power button. This will print nozzle patterns for the black and color cartridges. I suspect 1/4 of the nozzles are not working for the black cartridge, which would be a result of an electrical connection between the printer and the cartridge. To address this you can remove the cartridge and clean the contacts on the cartridge and printer as shown here.
Sorry, I do not have any reference information for the PPA specifications.

Open a program that allows you to insert text into a
document or get on the internet.
2.
If you were to open a program, you would need to type text
into the document. If you were to get
on the internet, you could skip to step 7.3.
After you have typed text into the document, you need to
locate the menu bar, click on file, then point to print.4.
Click on print.5.
When the print dialog box appears, select the printer you
want to use (if it is not already selected) and select the number of copies to
print.6.
Click OK.
7.
If you were to print a page or pages from the internet, follow steps 3, 4, 5, and 6, except you don't have to type text into a document to print.

I don't understand the 2nd question. Are you asking if I can show you the output that came from the printer?
