Failed to log ride course (travelled) rode 43km, only shows 100metres

On my ride this morning, turned on the garmin, waited for it to detect all devices(satellite, hem, speed and cadence) went for my ride, some 43 kms, got home stopped the recording saved as i normally do. Then when it came time to upload it only shows a ride of 100 metres. can this have anything to do with the update to 2.8?

Where were the 100 metres? At the beginning or end of the ride. Take it on another run, you might of just bumped it or it could have been a fluke. If it doesn't work after that try reupdating it. Could be it lost connection with the satelite in your area and missed the recording.

Garmin gpx files

After you are finished one bike ride, look for the settings option to choose "end this ride" or to save it. This way when you do another ride it will start a new separate gpx file.

When I select the trip log and attempt to restore it (delete past trip lines that are in blue), it doesn't work. It is important for me to delete these lines after traveling.

Just turn the lines off. At the main menu, press the settings/wrench button, then the map button and then press the button under the trip log text. Set it from SHOW to HIDE.

Garmin etrex ledgend c: When track log is turned on, "breadcrumbs" mark the path I've traveled. I don't save the track but the breadcrumbs remain on the unit's map....forever.

Hello

Check both your track and map settings. Make sure that "show track on map" is not selected in your map settings, and in your track settings try erasing all previous tracks.

Hope this helps!

I have a garmin edge 705. Every week I ride the same course. When I compare the graph of this same course they do not coincide. The starting point elevation is not the same aldo I always start at the same...

The reason is linked to startup of the device probably. I have same issue.

2 ways to improve :
1/ Startup your device
You need to startup device, and wait automatic change of the screen to the ride mode, from the sattellite search screen.
You also can check you have more than 4 sattellites before starting a ride. Altitude can only be computed when at least 4 sattellites are synchronized. So start your device in the open air, not indoor, nor close to a building.
Garmin devices start automatically and have probably a smoothing function that make altitude converge to the reality slowly from a started erroneous capture.

2/ Upload your ride on Garmin connect site, then apply altitude fix algorithm proposed. This algorithm will fix the altitude of your waypoints, both fixing pure altitude start issue, and also fixing denivellation computation, which is erroneous because of cumulation of errors.

Hope this helps

Good morning Vickie. With a device this new, I would suggest you have a conversation with the Garmin folks, e-mail or on the telephone. Here is the link: http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us click on support and make your choice.

I don't think you can repair this yourself.

My TV-ip110W will not send out emails

there is usually much more to this depending on your ISP and your network.

You have to verify that perhaps even your regular computer can send an email over port 25.

if you are using an actual email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook, copy your outgoing smtp settings to the camera and check if that works.

Garmin Street Pilot C330

This seems to be a common problem and my unit has the same issue. Hopefully someone from Garmen monitors this forum and will offer a suggestion or explaination. Perhaps leaving the units in a hot car in the summer fries something that affects sensitivity of the unit.

Safe mode

Safe mode means that you can not access the menus while the car is in motion or if the GPS detects movement. If you have issues turning it off, you may need to do a hard reset. Lift off the face by lifting up just under the Garmin name and the reset button should be to the right of the face. There may be an update also for this issue from Garmin.
