Poulan Chainsaw 3816. The bar oil comes out very fast and leaks out. I've taken off the bar, chain, and cover so after starting it up I can see the bar oil coming out of a hole.

It's probably the oiler check valve located on the crankcase just in front of the clutch. You will probably need to remove the clutch and sprocket to get at it.

no bar oil should just hurt your chain and bar. remove them and try to start saw. if it still won't start you have other problems you may have to buy a new bar and chain

The easy fix is to drain the oil tank when not in use. Many saws will leak some oil initially, but should not continue to do so. If it is making a large puddle, oil is getting past the oil pump which may be worn from long use. Make sure the tank vent is not plugged as heat from the engine can increase pressure in the tank thus forcing oil out. Hope this helps!
