Go the router setup page, 192.168.0.1, type admin as the user name and password as the password (default, if you have changed these use your login info).
Then on the wireless page change the SSID (router name).
You can also add a security key on this page.

SOURCE: Lost Installation CD for Wireless Router WBR 1310

Here's the link to the setup file on the d-link site: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/wbr1310_revB/Apps/
I had to special request this link. If you go through all their information on their site, it states you should be able to obtain a copy of their installation CD as a download file. But you can't find it anywhere. So, after I requested it, they gave me this FTP link, directly into their server. I don't know how long this link will last. It worked as of 4-21-10.

We have a vizio smart tv but cannoy connect yo wifi. What should we do?

Vizio will not connect with Netgear wi fi, BUT if you want to try it, you have to adjust the security
If you have the skilset then..........
Set your router to use both WPA-PSK (TKIP) and WPA2-PSK (AES) and the TV finally connected using the WPA-PSK (TKIP) security!

I need to secure my wireless connection network. I have a iMac computer an a Dlink WBR 1310. How do I configure a Password to prevent intruders from using my connection?

First you will need to find the local IP address of your router. It should look something like "192.168.0.1" You might be able to find it in either your router manual or on the bottom of the router itself.
Then make sure your computer is connected to the router via wireless or ethernet cable.
Next, open your browser and type in the IP address into the address bar. It should take you to a setup page that looks a lot like a website. Find the "wireless security" tab and select a security protocol. I recommend using either WPA or WPA2. Now you can set a password. Finally, there should be "save" button on the page. Click it, then wait for your router to reboot and your network is now secure.

I have a network set up with this router WBR-1310 version 1.1 . When my son came over with his laptop he could not get it to connect, and now I have been trying to connect another laptop that was not set...

The WPA or WEP encryption key is configured/enabled in the router's wireless settings. The router's SSID, WPA or WEP etc. needs to be configured in the laptop's wireless card settings fir the laptop's to communicate with the wireless router.
Please click on this link for information on how to secure your wireless network, configure the wireless router and configure the wireless card in the laptops and follow my instructions :-

I have reason to believe someone is using my wireless connection to no good use. How do I make this " secure"?

Surf to the IP of your router, enter the management interface and switch on security. Use WPA or WPA2. Make sure you make a note of the password you set up, or you'll never connect to it again ;)

Forgot D-Link 1310 wireless password - how do I retrieve it

What password? Are you referring to the WEP or WPA-PSK password? If yes, I would like to inform you that no one could give you the exact WEP or WPA key. Even if you check the utility of the router.

What you need to do is to reset the router to factory default and then reconfigure the router. That's the only way that you could do in order to set a new password.

Have a good evening!

My bf's Mac desktop and my PC laptop will not work at the same time after I set up a WEP or WPA-2 key on our DLINK WBR-1310 router. What do I need to do?

I would have the router make a new key and then try that in both machines, if that does not help, then I would reset the router to factory and start over again.

D-link wbr-1310

First check to be sure the ip address of the router IS 192.168.0.1, do this by clicking Start/Run and in the Run window type CMD and hit the enter key, this will give you the MS/DOS command window, at the courser type ipconfig /all, then check the ip address shown for the gateway which is your router. If the ip is correct, put a cat 5 cable from the router to the computer and type http://192.168.0.1 if that is the correct ip address and if it does not give you the logon page for the router reset to router to factory defaults as per owners manual. if this works please rate the solution as a FixYa. Cannot access the WBR-1310 webpage

if you are wireless, after a reset you need to connect with the router using an RJ45 lan connector lead. Reboot your notebook, while connect to router and then type in the default address for the set up page normally 192.168.0.1
