your ps3 is probably sat to HDMI or SCART, to change this: turn off your ps3 and hold the powerbutton when your turning it on. this will cause the ps3 to change between HDMI and scart, thats probably why it wont find a source.

Recheck the inter connections once more. Make sure them to be correct.

Bob Newell. I know it's been a couple years since you posted this, but I have one of these TV's now, and am looking for that firmware upgrade. But I can't seem to find it at the Sylvania website. Is it still there, and if so, can you point me to the right location?

You need to lower your PS3 video resolution, Google the web on how to change the PS3 video resolution.

Hi, I have a few things for you to try.
1. Your TV "6424TF" seems to have problems with its IR "Infra-red" sensor going bad. This is a common problem with your model TV. If this is the case no remotes will work on your TV.
2. Because I do not know the model of your universal RCA remote I cannot tell you how to program it.. please supply the model number of it. Try looking under the battery cover. might be an "RCR..." number. I need to know this because all universal remotes have different codes and programming methods.
3. To know 100% if its your TV that's bad you will need the original remote for your TV. I have already looked up your original remote and you can purchase a brand new replacement that will work right out of the package (assuming your TV IR sensor isn't broke) here: RR0108UD for all sylvania TVs . no programming is necessary for this remote.

Must change the Signal Tuner board.U well have good video after that.Not than 100% ur LCD Black projection Screen is dead not worth repairing.

I just figured it out last night - if you have used your playstation on an hd tv previously, it is set at the highest resolution possible - 1080p. You need to take it back to that tv, and go to display settings on your tv. If you select HDMI as they type of connection you'd like to make, it asks you what resolution your tv supports. In your tv instruction guide, it should give you this information. Check mark all of the resolutions your tv supports, making sure not to confuse 1080i and 1080p. After doing this you can take it back to your other television and it should work.

I had the same problem with my Sylvania TV. Turned out that the power supply in the tv was bad and had to be replaced. TV worked great for about 2 years then the same thing happened again. I recommend buying another brand.
