Calibrating incline voltage

The incline stopped working on my treadmill. I managed to get the incline gear unstuck and have done the mechanical calibration. My problem is the electrical calibration part is not working. The voltage is supposed to measure 1.27, but I get a reading of 4.88 no matter how many times I turn the gear that is supposed to change it for calibration. Does this mean the gear is broken or is it another issue?

This is for a SportsArt 1200 treadmill. I'm not sure why it put in Nordic Track.

It sounds like you may have a shorted potentiometer. I would recommend replacing the VR (Potentiometer) Assembly. I have located it on the manufacturers website for $32.50, part number is 1200-28. If the nylon gear is broken, that part number is 6005-37. If you need the diagram, here is the link:
http://sportsartamerica.com/saf/support/technicalsupport/diagrams/1200.pdf
and the link for the parts list/order page: http://sportsartamerica.com/saf/customer_service/CS_pages/PartsList.aspx

Unfortunately, the VR assembly is no longer available for purchase, even though they still list it on their website.

mojotone.com still sells the potentiometer piece for the SportsArt 1200 for $1.23. Part # 2144004 (as of May 2017)

SOURCE: Why does my Nordic Track Reflex 4500 Pro incline automatically when I start it up?

You must tried again the s.calibration, for easy diagnose, and troubleshooting.
However you must Adjust the speed sensor, test it, clean it, and tight any plug or connector, see the diagrams attached and proceed according.
2) Lube the elevation motor, the shaft + gear, test the motor itself for open or short. see the diagram attached. If you machine use RELAIS test it for dirty, or open and repair.
God bless you

After calibration of the incline for Proform 1Lx660 it still shows it is at 1.0 on the indicator.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the incline calibration or the rack and pinion system on your Proform 1Lx660 treadmill.
One potential solution to try is recalibrating the incline. This can typically be done by following the instructions in the treadmill's manual. If the problem persists, it could be that the rack and pinion gears are damaged or out of alignment. This would require a technician to inspect and repair the equipment.
If you are not familiar with troubleshoot and repair treadmill, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose the problem and provide the necessary repairs to get your treadmill running properly again.

Sportsart treadmill error 7

Treadmill Parts for SportsArt Belts Motor Brushes SPORTSMITH net
ERR7 Definition: The display board main IC didn't receive the incline variable resistor (VR) value, or the value exceeds the set range. Explanation: The incline VR voltage changes as the incline motor operates, and the display board CPU uses the VR voltage to calculate the incline position. Without this value, the CPU cannot instruct the incline motor what to do, so ERR? appears. Or when the incline set is out of alignment, the VR value exceeds the set range.

The following is a list of possible solutions:

1. Incline Set a) Inspect whether the Incline ERR LED on the drive board lights. This LED indicates that the incline set has exceeded the range. b) Inspect whether the incline set mechanically exceeds range. On DC incline motors, at the 0% position, the line on the thin incline pipe will not align with the end of the thick pipe. On AC motors, at the 0% position, the red line will not appear even with the bottom of the incline window in the incline set. See Incline Troubleshooting Manual for details. c) Inspect whether the incline VR voltage exceeds the range: Put multimeter probes on the incline VR set blue and green wire connectors, while keeping the wires connected. Refer to Incline Troubleshooting Manual for the voltage range for your treadmill. If the incline range is exceeded, either mechanically or electronically, calibrate the incline set. Refer to the Incline Calibration in the Incline Troubleshooting Manual for directions. If the incline set cannot be calibrated electronically, replace the incline VA. If the incline set is stuck and cannot be unstuck, replace the whole incline set. 2. Drive Board Inspect incline voltage on the blue and green wires at the drive board. If voltage is within range, and ERRl appears, inspect drive board component connections and components for wear. 3. Ribbon Cable Inspect ribbon cable for breaks. Inspect connections at the display and drive boards. 4. Display Board Inspect IC connections. Push down to secure connections. Re-insert les.

Nordic. Track incline won't work or calibrate

I have a NordicTrack C2155. Incline not working. There is a schematic inside. There are red, white, & black wires from the circuit board to the incline motor. Unplug the treadmill and have a licensed electrician construct a flying lead cord with a male spade on neutral and female spade plug on hot. Connect neutral to white and hot to where either red or black were connected. Plug in to see if the motor runs. Careful to remove power when the incline reaches its limit and reverse direction. If the motor runs in both directions, the motor is good. Follow the black two conductor wire to the circuit board and unplug from board. Check continuity across this switch. Run motor and this should toggle off and on. If all this checks out then the problem must be with the circuit board. On my treadmill, the schematic says that +5v should supply the sensor, but I only get +3.3v, which is TTL level. The drive motor sensor supply is +5v. The incline motor doesn't even show a sign of trying to run. Either the output transistor is burnt out or the low voltage caused an error so that it does not try to run the motor. Either way, I'm quite certain that a new controller board will remedy the problem.

The incline on my proform treadmill is not working and now I can't get the treadmill to start, it just keeps inclining up and down

ICON CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS- INCLINE
1) Press the Stop and the Speed Up keys down while inserting the safety key.
2) Press the Stop key one time. The Time window should read EP:2P. Some newer models may also say FP, Pass, or the like. This means that it passes the EPROM test.
3) Press either incline key and the incline will calibrate automatically.
4) THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP BECAUSE YOU WILL GET AN ERROR MESSAGE IF THIS STEP IS SKIPPED.After completing calibration of incline, press the Stop key and then remove the safety key.

If the incline moves but you it will not operate normally nor calibrate, check the wiring from the incline sensor to the power board. If all looks normal, put it back in calibration and see if you see a blinking “- -” symbol in the incline window when you are calibrating. If not, the incline sensor is bad.

If the incline moves but only just a bit, it could be a problem as simple as the gearbox on the motor being jammed. We remove the motor from the treadmill, reconnect the wiring, and then try to run the incline motor outside the treadmill. Many times, this will unjam it if that is the problem and then reinstalling it in the treadmill will get it to work. If you have the same problem or it doesn’t run outside the machine and you can hear it try to work, you need to replace the incline motor.

If the incline motor does not move, we need to figure out if the motor is getting voltage. Use a simple multi-meter and set it to AC volts. When you put it into calibration, it tries to calibrate the directions one at a time. Measure across the white and black wires first, then measure across the white and red wires second. If the motor is getting voltage you will read 120VAC (or
thereabouts) one one of the measurements. If you have voltage but the motor won't move, you need to replace the motor.
4.
If the incline motor does not move and you have done the voltage test and you do not have any voltage present, there is a problem in the electronics board that supplies the power. If the console is powering the drive motor as normal, you can bet it is getting an incline signal and the power board needs to be replaced (some models have an integrated power board/controller) so if there is only a single board the whole board has to be replaced. It is possible the console is not giving the proper signal but we've never seen it happen in thousands of treadmills.

The treadmill does not incline. Motor runs when the button is pushed but no movement.

Try Re-Calibrating 1st, here's how.
With the Treadmill off, press and HOLD the SPEED UP & STOP
keys, while holding the speed up & stop keys insert the Safety key (Magnet) release the speed up & stop keys. now press and release the stop key. now press the "incline up key" let the treadmill go to max incline, after it stops press and hold the "incline down key" let it go to minimum (completely lowered) you should now be re-calibrated.
