Dehumidifier is draining to tray and not the hose

SOURCE: 50 pt. dehumidifier will not

Nothing worked, because the drain hole to the hose connection is clogged or the hose is clogged. When that happens, water is diverted to the bucket.

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & Unplug the unit.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If none are found, the clog is inside the hose connector.

Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie appropriately sized to fit the hole. Carefully insert the tip of the Zip Tie and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will have to gingerly work the Zip Tie past the bend, until it bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating (twisting) it. This will break up any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared as some water that might follow. Even if you don't see any residue from a clog, it may have been pushed out of the way. Reinstall everything, plug the unit in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and take it for a test drive.

Be sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet and that it gradually slopes down and away from the unit. The water drainage relies entirely on gravity.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

My comfort site dehumidifier. When the bucket is full

If water is coming out on the floor from your Comfort Site dehumidifier even when the bucket is not overflowing, there may be a few possible causes for this issue:
  1. Improper Placement of the Bucket: Ensure that the bucket is correctly positioned and inserted into the dehumidifier. Make sure it is securely in place, and the water outlet on the bucket is aligned with the dehumidifier's drainage system. If the bucket is not properly seated or aligned, it can result in water leakage.
  2. Bucket Seal or Gasket: Check the bucket's seal or gasket for any signs of damage, wear, or misalignment. If the seal is compromised or not making proper contact with the dehumidifier's body, water can escape and leak onto the floor. Clean the seal and ensure it is free from debris or obstructions. If necessary, replace the seal or gasket with a compatible replacement part.
  3. Drainage Hose Connection: Some dehumidifiers have the option to connect a drainage hose directly to the unit for continuous draining. If a drainage hose is connected, make sure it is securely attached and there are no leaks or loose connections along the hose. Ensure that the other end of the hose is properly directed into a drain or receptacle.
  4. Internal Drainage System: The dehumidifier's internal drainage system, including the collection tray or drain pan, may be clogged or blocked. Remove the bucket and inspect the drainage area for any debris, buildup, or blockages. Clean the drainage system thoroughly, ensuring that water can flow freely from the collection tray into the bucket without any obstructions.
  5. Check for Excessive Humidity: If the dehumidifier is operating in an area with extremely high humidity levels, it may struggle to remove moisture effectively. This can result in excessive condensation or water buildup that leads to leakage. Consider using additional dehumidification methods or addressing the underlying humidity issue in the space.
If the issue persists after checking these potential causes, it is advisable to consult the user manual for your specific Comfort Site dehumidifier or contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or offer guidance based on their knowledge of the product.

I cannot find my manual for the Westpointe dehumidifier. I need to know how to fix it so that it uses a drain instead of the tank. It is set up with the hose which is directed to a drain. However, I...

Make sure the hose is clear. Did you put a hole in the attaching place for the hose? Most tanks come with no hole even though there is a hose place in the tank.

DeLonghi dehumidifier hose by drain tray leaking

I think that I am having the same problem, but I'm not sure that this tube needs to be plugging into anything. However, my humidifier seems to be draining out of this tube rather than from the tray into the bucket.

Hose connected to drain, but still leaks water on floor

Had the same problem. Make sure you tighten the house a little with pliers. Also, make sure the dehumidifier is up a lot higher than where you're draining it into. Mine drains into a utility sink. But I have the dehumidifier propped up onto a dresser. I cut a small piece of hose to run into the sink. Seems to be working now.

It will take 5 min or so to establish a water flow, so be patient after you hook everything up. Good luck.

Need manual for fedder dehumidifer to hook up drain hose. need to know were drain hose connects.

Pull out the water collection tray. You will see a small pipe (about 1/2" diameter) in the top of the area where the tray came from. This is the "drain" that fills the tray. Connect a hose to this pipe and run the hose to a floor drain if you have one. I used a section from an old garden hose for my unit. There also may be a small opening in the back wall of the dehumidifier to route the hose more aesthetically.

Fdk45p1 dehumidifier

Has anyone figured out how to get a 25-pint Frigidaire dehumidifier (model FDD25S1) to put water out the drain hose for continuous draining instead of into the bucket? It appears to be impossible to connect the hose in a way to avoid water leaking into the bucket.
