2000 Hornet 250: what is the ideal tyre pressure in hornet 250...

NEVER the same pressure on both tyres !!
Usually, rear tyre is larger and/or carries more weight (you), therefore needs a much higher PSI. On a Hornet 250, 600 or 900cc it should be 36psi FRONT and 42psi REAR. - check the manuals.

Percent to chemistry problems.

Hello

You should ask a question, we cannot guess what you want.

Percent means per 100 or 1/100. So 75% = 75/100 or 0.75. Here are some exemples of percent calculations with %

Percentage (5% of 250)

250 [x] 5 [2nd] % [=] gives 12.5

Ratio (Ratio of 250 to 5)
250 [/] 5 [2nd] [%] [=] gives 5000.

Add-On (5% add-on of 250)
250 [+] 5 [2nd] [%] [=] gives 262.5

Discount (5% discount of 250)
250 [-] 5 [2nd][%] [=] gives 237.5

Some percentages and decimal equivalents
1 = 100% ; 2 = 200%, 3=300%
0.5 = 50%
0.4 =40%
0.1 = 10%
1/3= 0.33333 = 33.33%
1/4 = 0.25 = 25%
2/3= 0.66666 = 66.66%
1/5 =0.2 = 20%
1/8 = 0.125 =12,5 %
Hope it helps.

I have an older 250 xt 1980's but cannot find out what year as the serial is not 17 digits (3Y2 000175)

Hi
Did some extensive searching for you. You may need to call an old school Yamaha mechanic to pull that one up for you. Tpo give you an idea of what was being produced back then, found this list ...
XT 250 G 80-81 3Y3,5g4
XT 250 G 80 3Y4
XT 250 H 81 3Y1
XT 250 J 82 15Y
XT 250 J 82 3Y1
XT 250 J 82 3Y4
XT 250 K 83 3Y1
3y2 does not appear anywhere. But the series of number indicated for the XT250 above point it to probably being an XT built between 1980, and 1983. Best I could find. Hope it helps
regards robotek
