After switching on only a small dash appears.No booting !

Ed located at the boot latch you should find a sensor wire isolate and inspect for damage or breakage.Ed out of pure curiosity why do people call the trunk ,"the boot"? Marcus

hi,if you open your trunk and look around the frame that doors closes onto you will find a small push in switch.. they are like the ones on a fridge door. sometimes the switch will get pushed through the hole and wont be able to be depressed. it sounds like yours is half way down the hole so the trunk is just touching it not pressing it . as for when you brake this could be putting a small amount of pressure on the boot enabling it to push the switch right down. if the switch is sitting ok then spray the 2 wires leading to it and the switch itself with a good oil as it is not doing its job right...hope this helps

There should be a switch that opens and turns the dash light off when the boot is closed. find and adjust the switch.

Check the drivers manual to see what the light means, I think the boot light switch wants adjusting or is loose, causing the light on the dash to light up.

You could have a bad motherboard.

Try to boot off your windows cd.

If it boots from the cd, follow the instructions to repair you existing windows installation.

I'm guessing it wont boot from the cd. At this point it will be difficult for you to continue. You will need a diagnostic CD/Thumbdrive to continue. No offense, but if you had one you would not be here. So, I suggest you find a local repair shop and ask them to run diagnostics.

I recommend a locally-owned shop. Small repair shops find it in their best interest to do good work and depend on you for support. I'm not saying there are always the best choice but the odds are better you'll get good results. Ask around to see where your friends or co-workers go to for service.

they have little pin switches on the inside of the door jar's check all these are pushing in and then back out when the door is open, they stick internally sometimes and you have to wd-40 them to free them up.

Also is the door light the same one for the boot? or is that another light? if it is a shared light for both then check the boot lid underside and the small panel on the bottom where your knees would be ensure these are all clean and have a good contact.

You have 2 trip gauges/readout. "a" is the first. If you push in the trip resetter quickly it will switch to "b". Hope this helps.

To reset the message displays, turn the ignition switch on. Press and hold the odometer reset button "A" located below the speedometer. Turn off the ignition while holding the button. "OEL" will display on the indicator. Press and hold the lower digital clock reset button "B" until five dashes appear in the display. If needed, press the odometer reset button until "IN 01" appears and then press the clock reset button until five dashes appear. If needed, press the odometer reset button until "IN 02" is displayed and then press the clock reset button until five dashes appear. To exit reset mode, turn the ignition switch on and when "IN 01" appears, turn the ignition switch off.



1. Switch ignition ON.
2. Press and hold odometer reset button below speedometer.
3. Switch ignition OFF and release odometer reset button. OEL will now
display.
4. Press and hold the lower digital clock set button or the analog clock set
button until five dashes (-----) appear in display.
5. If necessary, pree odometer reset button to proceed to the IN 01 display
(15,000 mile maintenence) and reset using the clock button.
6. If necessary, repeat procedure to reset IN 02 (30,000 mile maintenence)
display.
7. To end reset mode: switch ignition ON; when display IN 01 appears, switch ignition OFF.

look under the hood there is a small fuse box located next to the battery that has a fuse that operates the sliding door also make sure the switch on the dash above the sliding door switches isnt off

The micro-switch is fitted inthe lock of the tailgate.Try opening the tailgate and manually close the lock and see if the boot light and the dash indicater light go off,if not,replace boot lock.If the lights go off,tailgate not closing properly,adjust the boot lock catch.Good luck
