I am afraid that that foult code means that the machine's software has to be reloaded. The only way this can be done is by a qulified xerox tech. It need a laptop with special software to connect to the machine to do the download.
You must enter in maintenance mode: Press the Menu/Set and Start keys. Next press the key four times to make the machine enter the maintenance mode, or turn on the machine while pressing the menu/set key. The machine beeps for approx. one second and displays "MAINTENANCE " on the LCD, indicating that it is placed in the initial stage of the maintenance mode, a mode in which the machine is ready to accept entry from the keys.
Display of the Equipment's Log Information (Function code 80) Function The equipment may display its log information on the LCD. Operating Procedure (1) Press the 8 and 0 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode. The USB serial number appears on the LCD. (2) Press the Start key. Each time the Start key is pressed, one of the following log information items appears on the LCD in the order given below. 1) Jam count, indicating how many times a paper jam has been occurred 2) Page count, indicating how many pages the photosensitive drum has been printed 3) Total page count, indicating how many pages the equipment has been printed since produced 4) Drum count, indicating how many times the photosensitive drum has been rotated 5) Drum change count, indicating how many times drum replacement has been made 6) Toner change count, indicating how many times toner replacement has been made 7) Copy page count, indicating how many copies have been made 8) PC print page count, indicating how many pages the equipment has been printed as an output device of the connected PC 9) FAX page count, indicating how many received FAX pages have been printed 10) Error code of the most recent machine error *1 11) Error code of the most recent communications error *2 12) ADF jam count, indicating how many times a document jam has been occurred 13) ADF page count, indicating how many documents have been fed (3) To stop this operation and return to the equipment to the initial stage of the maintenance mode, press the Stop/Exit key To exit maintenance mode press 99
Try unplugging it for 10 minutes. While unplugged, press and hold the start and stop but for 10 seconds. Double check for any paper jams. Just the smallest piece can jam it up. There should be a list of error codes for anything wrong. List paper jam would have an error code, change toner, change or clean ink, ect. Is this the only message you get? If that's so, try the steps I mentioned above so the machine resets itself. It the problem still occurs, let me know I will gladly help you to correct this problem.
Software performance error The software attempted to perform an unexpected operation. Software defective Internal parameter incorrect Insufficient working memory When this SC occurs, the file name, address, and data will be stored in NVRAM. This information can be checked by using SP7-403. Note the above data and the situation in which this SC occurs. Then report the data and conditions to your technical control center.
Ok, that's the "OFFICIAL" meaning, in reality, EVERY TIME I'v had this, it took a PM or at least a Developer change and a good idea to replace the Drum and Drum Cleaning Blade too, Be sure and run the setups too. Enter the service mode. Clear modes, 1,0,7 and hold down the Clear/Stop key. Press COPY SP on the display and enter the following info. SP2001 = 1480V SP2201 = 600V SP2801 (after new developer is installed) SP2805 (after new drum and developer is installed) SP3001-2 (after cleaning the ID sensor and/or replacing the drum) SP7804 SP7807 Good luck.
Transfer Belt Error Aproblem has occurred transfer belt in the machine. Unplug the power cord and plug it back in.If the problem persists Cleaning the inside of the sensor of the belt and then not change you change the blet assembly
A U2 is related to a memory failure. May be a bad memory chip or main board. BUT, before we get drastic and move in that direction there are a couple of other things that I have seen cause that. So, first I have seen the chip on the back of the drum cartridge cause that problem. You can try removing the drum cartridge and powering on the machine without that installed. See if it just comes up with a J2 code then. Or even a CH code. If the code changes you may simply have a failed drum cartridge. Sometimes memory corruption can occur and you can clear it using this procedure..
Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your WorkCentre and will help to clear error codes.
Find the pink Clear button on the Control Panel of the WorkCentre.
Find the button below the word Auto.
Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto]
NOTE:
All of the lights on the Control Panel should go out and the LED
Display should go blank. If the lights do not go out, then repeat step
3 until they do. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the pace
of the [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] sequence.
Press the [10's] key one time and the [1's] key four times to enter '14' in the LED Display, as if you were to make 14 copies.
Press the green [Start] button.
Press the pink [Clear] button two times.
The WorkCentre should now warm up and come to ready.
If the above steps do not clear the error code, repeat steps 3 to 6 a second time.
