My stackable washer/dryer has filled with water and agitates, but will not drain or spin on any cycle. it will agitate in rinse mode, but no drain or spin. not sure how to get into the back to even look at it to see what is wrong... any suggestions on how to proceed?
You will need to replace the switch I am afraid. If I had your Model # I could get you the part # . If you would like to order a swtich, I can give you my web site address
I would appreciate if you would rate my prfomance here because I am new to this site. Any feed back on how I am doing would be helpful.
Thanks

To change the switch, remove the 2 screws. You can try and replace the whole harnes but, I just cut the 2 wiers and splice the new switch to them useing wire nuts. I have been working on these for 25 years and I have never had a problem with the splice.
I have added my web site address in case you need a place to order the switch.
I hope this helps you

all you need are 2 wire nuts. you can get them from any hardware store. If you order it from me, I would include them for you because they do not come with it. Any radio shack. If you know an electrician, they would have them.
Actually you should be able to pull the old switch out far enough to cut the wires. You should not have to take the panel off. Unscrew the old switch and pull it out in the tub opening.
HI, It sounds like the lid just isn't cloing enough to activate the switch until you reshut it. The next time it goes into spin, just push down on the lid while draing and see if it starts spinning. Check the post that activates the lid switch, is it lose or broke? Also see if there is any slop in the lid hinges. You might have to tighten them. Last idea, and that is to try and twist the lid so that the activation side hits first.
Please let me know how or if this helpss at all.

Thank you Maytag317...didn't think to look at the lid switch... I looked at it & the switch has loosened on the inside of the machine. If I put my hand into the machine & hold the switch up it works...YAY!!!... now how do I reattach the switch so that I dont have to hold it?? I hope you have another a fantastic solution up your sleeve!!! I am starting to love this site!!!
110.88752793 kenmore also can you give me some guidance on how to get to the switch. I see there are 2 screws right above the switch but how do I get in there to replace & does it involve any electrical experience. I have changed a heating element in a dryer before... is it similar Thanks!! Sondra
how can I get to the part to splice the wires?
do i take the front panel between the washer & dryer off then unscrew the switch... I guess then i would have to take the old switcho ff by cutting the wires on the back panel, then feed the new one up under & back to the panel opening, then splice the wires together there with the wire nuts?? if this is not the correct procedure let me know thanks!!
ok I have replaced the entire switch and feel pretty good about it. The washer now drains. Now there is a new problem...when the washer gets to the end of each cycle it will drain but won't start to soin until the lid is lifted & closed then it starts to spin. Is there anything i can do about this problem?
Hi, Most likely having a lid switch problem. You do not need to get to the back. Take the panel of between the dryer and washer (2 screws holding it there) You should be able to see the lid switch quick connector. If you hav an ohm meter, you should have continuity with the lid closed.
This would be my first test.
