When I plug in the battery charger, it does not fit snuggly into the port. I bought a replacement charger, but that hasn't solved the problem. The battery is also new. Is there any way I can charge the battery other than using the port?

Seems like a old problem, but does the laptop work without a battery? possibly the powerjack on the computer is loose.

It sounds like the connector on the motherboard has come loose. Don't continue messing with it as you will make it worse. You might be able to have a technician resolder the motherboard connector. It is a common problem with a variety of laptops and a lot of times can be fixed for a modest fee.

Remove battery, replace and ensure contacts are clean. If wont charge then battery is dead. Get a new battery.
