Pictures are already deleted but camera space is still full

Hi! I have a sony cybershot. I just uploaded photos into my mac laptop, and I deleted the photos in my camera using my computer. Now, when I use my camera, the number of pictures remaining is the same. Even if I have no photos in my camera, the number of pictures remaining is 38 out of 101. Please help! How do I get my space back??? Nikole

Format the memory stick using the camera's "Format" command. You should NEVER use the computer to delete your pictures.

Hey little rosie,
If you don't have a cord you are definitely missing a cord. With the camera there should have been a cd with the necessary software to upload your pictures, and there should have been a cord to connect your camera to a USB port on your computer. Another option you have is to get a card reader from a retail store, and use the card reader to upload your images to your computer. Make sure the card reader you get is compatible with Memory Stick memory cards, and make sure you have the cameras' software installed on your computer prior to uploading your images. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

If you can, you can do a google search for a program called FILE SCAVENGER. It will recover deleted files. I'm sure you can search for an undelete program that will work just as well for free but I do know File scavenger does work, I've used it myself.

Hello

It happens to everyone. You delete a picture or accidentally format a memory card that should not have been deleted/formatted. Luckily there is a way to recover you data if you have not used the drive since losing the data.

To start , download Disc digger from the following link :

Diskdigger

This program is free-ware but donations to the developer are encouraged to help maintain and improve the program.

After the program has finished downloading , simply unzip it and run it (no installation). If you do not have a program to unzip it , CLICK HERE to download winrar.

Make sure that your memory card is connected to your computer either via the camera or preferably via a external card reading unit.

Now , select your memory card from the list when you open the program and then click next.

Now , for accidentally deleted files , select "dig deep"
For a formatted card/drive select "dig deeper"

Now select the file types you would like to recover on the next page and then select next.

bad48d4.jpg

The program will now start searching for viable files of the type you selected.

544eb36.jpg

Files that are found are displayed on the left of the window. Once the scan completes , select all the files found and click the save pictures button.

Now select a file other than the memory card to save the recovered files and select OK.

The files will now be written to your hard drive and can be viewed on the location chosen. Unfortunately all meta data and names of files are lost because of the format , but at least the picture can be recovered which is the important part anyway.

If you restored a file which was accidentally deleted , the file name and meta data will be restored.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea

I have had success with this camera recovery software ... Download the program

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

How to recover pictures from sony cybershot

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this photo recovery software called asoftech photo recovery
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only.
Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu.
Thanks.

My sony cybershot T2 is no longer recognized by any computer I connect it to via USB. But when I connect my sister's camera (also a T2), it works fine? please help

You may have a bad USB in your camera connector in your camera. Any repair shop should be able to repair for less than $50.00. Also check that you do not have a bad cable. You may also want to try on a different computer than yours. if it works you may have a driver or USB conflict with your computer.

Sony Cybershot - the memory stick is full

More than likely the camera still thinks the photos are on the stick, especially if you deleted the images while it was hooked to the computer. I would safely move the rest of the photos off the stick onto your computer then format the card through the camera and with the camera disconnected from the computer. this should clear the card.

Cybershot DSC-N1 restore internal memory photos

You can recover deleted photos with camera recovery software like asoftech photo recovery, download from

Please be noted that your camera memory should show as a drive letter in your explorer, if not, you need to take out your memory card and connect using a card reader, or plug-in to card reader slot if there's any on your computer.
