Does the walking belt move for a brief moment, then immediately stop, followed by the E1 code? Or is there no belt movement at all when start is pressed?

The E1 Error code appears when the needle bar is up and the sewing machine can't prepare the zigzag motor to start. Unplug the sewing machine and check the wiring connections on the zigzag motor and circuit board A. Replace the fuse on circuit board A if the fuse is blown. Replace circuit board A if it has a burned spot. Replace the zigzag motor if the fuse blows and circuit board A is okay.

E1 is a carriage error, check the linear encoder and make sure the
carriage shaft is lubricated.If this is not the problem,you will need to
start looking at the carriage motor or possibly the main board.
The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...
Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused. You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.
If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display. This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.
Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
