How to replace gas vent on huaqvarna 51 chainsaw

Disassembly
The fuel tank vent is located on the right side of the fuel
tank next to the right rear rubber element. With the fuel
tank empty and the fuel hose disconnected at the
carburetor, remove the two rear rubber elements. Separate the rear of the crankcase and the fuel tank enough to expose the fuel tank vent. Working through the fuel filler opening, grasp the fuel tank vent tube with a pair of needle nose pliers. Push the vent out the other side.
For access to the right side rubber elements, first remove the chain brake cover, bar, chain, chain catcher and cover plate.
For access to the left side rubber elements, remove the starter housing.

Assembly
Install the fuel tank vent using a drift the same diameter
as the vent tube. The remainder of assembly is the
reverse of disassembly.

My chainsaw starts and runs but the chain won't turn so it shuts itself off. What am I doing wrong?

Check the braking bar. You usually start the chainsaw with the brake in the 'on' as a safety feature. You have to release the brake before powering up the chain, otherwise you are fighting against the brake and the engine will shut down. Hope this helps.

Chainsaw chain keeps running

This is a carb adjustment issue and needs to be rectified before using it again, the L jet on the carb is set too lean, if you cannot correct yourself i would suggest taking it to the local chainsaw shop.

What to hook the two hot wires up to for 240 volt use of a quad ballast on a 400W metal halide fixture? Common and 240?

Hooking one side to common (neutral) will give you only 120 volts. You need to hook to a double ganged breaker which will supply the needed 240 volts. Be sure to run a ground wire to the metal frame of the light from the ground bar in the service panel. Hope this helps!
