Water level adjustment

I have a Toto Ultramax MS8531135 toilet, can't seem to get the water level as high as it was when first purchased. Have replaced the fill level valves, but does not put enough water in the bowl to clean properly. Have adjusted the water level to its highest level, still not filling bowl like it used to. Any ideas ?

SOURCE: not enough water in the bowl

The fill valve probably has a float that surrounds the pole that extends from the bottom of the tank. The float usually has a metal rod that comes down with a clip to adjust the float. Move that clip up so that the float sits higher-this should add more water to the tank.

SOURCE: valve adjustment

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

SOURCE: Replaced toilet fill valve - now bowl water level a bit lower

put some water in with a bucket. poor some in slowly until you get it where you think it should have been. If it levels back out at the lower level. Then there is nothing wrong. Maybe the leaking water was keeping the bowl water line high than it should have been.

SOURCE: Toilet Bowl Water Level Slowly Drops

Check the fill tube in your toilet one easy way to see if it's leaking is get food coloring and pour in your tank to color the water this makes it easier to see and squeeze the tube in the tank when it's full if you see the colored water running down the middle of it you have a winner! if not you can look around for it sometimes the plastic under the flapper gets cracked too

SOURCE: Toto fill valve continual problem, new toilet

There are cheep fill valves and ther better built fill valves, so make sure you buy aa quality fill valve. Also buy a pressuer gauge at ahard ware store and check water pressure level at a faucet outlet. Screw gauge onto water fauct leave a little room for air to escape when water is drippng out tighten the hose bib on the gage turn on the faucet and read the pressure. If it's more than 50 PSI you need to lower the water pressuer. I need to know if your on a, on site underground well,or are on city water to tell you what you need to do to to fix this problem. If there is one. thanks for using Fix-ya if you want more info post here.

I have a toto toilet , model MS604114CEFG , bought 2 years ago . Last night , when I flushed it , the water level in the toilet bowl did not come down . It stay high in the bowl . In the tank reservoi

If the toilet is the only fixture in the bathroom group that is having an issue, then there is a partial blockage in Strap of toilet or in drain pipe close to toilet. If other fixtures are showing sluggish drainage, then the main drainage line is clogged. If all is fine with tub lav shower etc., pull toilet from floor and carefully turn upside down, and look to see if anything is visable. if so remove it and reinstall with new seal(wax ring). Also, look into pipe and see if any water is standing in it. If water is standing in pipe, the drain line is clogged and must be rodded(snaked) out to cure problem

Have the Toto Ultramax II toilet and it was installed 3 months ago. Have an issue where the GMAX fill valve is not functioning properly. The water keeps running because it always go over the fill line....

An installation guide for your toilet can be found here:

http://admin.totousa.com/Product%20Downloads/0GU013Z,%20ONE%20PIECE%20TOILETS,%20V.08.pdf

See the top of page 5 for guidance on setting the water level. Make sure you are turning the screw the correct direction (clock-wise) to reduce the fill level.

Is the refill tube properly connected? Should be connected to fill valve nipple and the other end clipped to direct flow to the inside of the overflow pipe.

Is water flow only through the overflow tube or is there leakage from the flush valve? Being only 3-months old you should not be having problems due to breakdown of rubber seals; however, check to make sure the toilet flapper is properly sealing against the flush valve.

If none of this helps with your problem you made need to replace the fill valve. On page 10 of your guide is a parts list; you can identify your part numbers and shop on-line for an idea of replacement costs:

Toilet fills up and water keeps on running (toto 6.0 lpt)

If any toilet runs (continues to fill) when it is not being used, there are basically 3 reasons. the most obvious is that water is leaking out all over the floor so the fill valve thinks the tank has not reached its volume of water. Next, the rubber device that keeps the water in the tank when not being used (most commonly called a flapper) has warped from time or chemicals in the water (NOTE:chlorine eats rubber for breakfast daily), and and allows water to seep past it, which lowers the water level and triggers the fill valve to come back on to top things off.
The third reason is because there is particulat in the fill valve or mineral buildup and internally it doesnt always properly seal so it can run intermittently or all the time.
All the parts on the TOTO ultramax are warranteed for 5 years so keep that in mind if it applies.
Remove the tank lid when you hear the fill vave working and look at the water level. If the water level is below the top of the white plastic tube that the flapper is connected to (often called the overflow tube), then you have a bad flapper. If the water level is going over the top of the tube then you have a defective fill valve.
Out of warranty fill valves can easily be replaced with a Lavelle "Quiet fill" available at most hardware or plumbing stores or online.
This valve is what Toto uses in most of their toilets and it is only the removeable cap that is different (subliminal advertising maybe)

Toto seems to flush, but suction not working and waste not emtying

check the discharge hole, meaning you have to take down the toilet.
and make sure the water in the tank is at a proper high. you need the volume to create the wirlpool and push the waste.
