Peavey powered amp - the power light is on but no sound is coming out? I have checked all channels and buttons and replaced both fuses - the one in the back and the one in the plug- still no sound but it is powering up? Help! please !
I changed out the power cord because the old one was cut. Pulled out the main unit from the box and soldered on a new cord. Put it all back together and the powers button lit up. Awesome! Plugged in the guitar and no sound. Changed the cable. No luck. Plugged in a mic and still no sound. Dang.... Then I remembered I forgot to plug the speaker back into the main board inside. Took off the back cover and yup I was right. Plugged it in and behold- the power of electronic sound returns. Sometimes the simplest answers are the right one...
Bad output transistors or bad Soldier joint in output section
SOURCE: Peavey sound board 2 channels not working
check for cold solder joints from the input jacks and the fader. If any look suspicious (dull or grainy) re-solder.
SOURCE: Peavey PR15-D Powered speakers, Power on but no sound.
Check for impedance ( resistance) in ohms on the speakers disconnected from the circuit using a volt/ohm meter. I think the woofers are 8 ohms and the tweeters are 8 ohms. Also check for bad solder joints where the jacks are soldered to the circuit boards.

You've lost one of the power supply rails. It needs to be repaired or replaced.
SOURCE: I don't get any sound from my peavey viper 120
Suspect switch contacts that are a part of the headphone jack.
SOURCE: My son has a Peavey valveking 212 keeps blowing
Check w dealer about warranty - I thought it was 2 years? Great amps when they're working! I love my tone on it! :)
