Bottom not cooling

I have a 2 door 2way dometic fridge. The freezer top gets really cold, but the fridge part doesnt get cold at all? I dont know much about this? Why would the freezer get cold and not the fridge part?

because you either have a fan problem or a defrost problem not allowing the fan to blow cold air into fridge. the fridge gets its air from the freezer

I have a Dometic fridge model number RM2612 in a camper that i just purchased used and the fridge isn't cooling. The freezer section seems to be okay. The metal plate in the freezer gets cold but

Make sure it is level, has proper airflow out through top vent. Also check baffle, or stack where flame sits under and blow it out good with compressed air to make sure it's clean. If you smell a hint or strong smell of ammonia, shut it off, it has a leak in cooling unit. If all ok in that area, shut it off, disconnect and plug propane line, disconnect power and remove the fridge. Turn the fridge upside down for a day or 2, then re-install and let it sit 24 hrs before turning it back on. Quite often that will take care of any blockage in flow of cooling liquid, and get things back to normal if cooling unit is still good.

Dometic RM2612..Replaced Thermister, was cooling excellantly, now freezer works well but no cold in bottom of frigg? What may cause this?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

We have a Dometic 2310 - freezer works well, fridge seems inconsistent. Top of fridge gets very warm. Is it helpful to add a cooling fan?

Freezer working, fridge isn't.

It is possible that your cooling unit is failing due to a blockage. The solution used to cool starts at the top of the fridge and works its way to the bottom. If there is a blockage in the cooling unit it could produce the symptom you have explained.

My dometic fridge doesn't cool some times but the freezer works

I don't know what type of fridge you have side by side or top mount or bottom mount but what every it is sounds like the air ducts are blocked with ice or the air damper is not working.

Dometic problem

It sounds like your cooling unit is going out. Here's a couple of things to check. Do you smell any ammonia when you open either one of the doors? When you look at the rear of the fridge, do you see anything that looks like rusty water that has run down any of the metal tubes and dried up? If the answer to either one of these is "yes", then youll need to start looking for a new fridge or replace the cooling unit on the one that you have.

Fridge not working

I've had this happen to my Kenmore 73503 several times. The 1st time took me a few hours to figure out what the problem was.

Basically the fridge is cooled from the freezer, so when you say your freezer is -2 degrees, it's a big tip off to the problem.

If you look very close in the freezer compartment at the back, you'll notice an opening with a little door at the top of the freezer compartment. This opening extends up the inside of the back of the fridge to the top of the fridge area via a square plastic tube.

Basically what happens in my fridge is the family loads the freezer to high especially at the top/back. This restricts or closes off the opening for the cold air to the fridge portion of the appliance ....resulting in a warm fridge, but cold freezer. Just remove the articles at the back of the freezer to correct problem. (It will take a few hours for the cold air to cool the fridge down)

Note: the temperature control unit in the fridge area controls the little door at the top of the freezer compartment, so if you haven't blocked off the opening, the next place to look would be either at the mechanical parts of the little door or the temperature control unit itself in the fridge
