Hisense reset I have an Amana through-the-wall aircoditioner/heater. The outside air vent is set on closed, but it feels like I have a window wide open with the amount of very polluted and frigid air coming through the unit. Can anyone help?

The outside vent is for bringing in air when you want to run the fan in pleasant weather conditions. All I'm getting is frigid air and pollution. I feel like I'm being slowly poisoned.

The outside vent must be OPEN to allow the appliance to get the needed air. In the heating mode of a heat pump, the outdoor coil becomes the condenser. Open the outside vent!

SOURCE: Daily reset of outside unit

I have the same unit and was having the same problem. My brother works on A/C's and told me that the coils most likely needed cleaning from the inside out because when they are clogged with a lot of debris the system will overheat and cause that switch to trip and so far it has worked. What you need to do is turn the main breaker off to the outside unit first then take the four screws out of the top of the unit, use a flat head screwdriver and lift the fan it's self up out of the carefully taking caution of the wires going to the fan, then take the garden hose with a spray nozzle and wash the coils from the inside spraying through the coil to the outside and then wash the louvers off of all the debris and this should help.

SOURCE: AC unit outside blowing out cold air, vents

If you have a heat pump probably there's a wrong connectionin the thermostat, but if is not a heat pump ,the compresor is not working or the unit leaked all the refrigerant.

Testimonial: "thank you, we have had a problem in the past with refrigerant leaking, was supposed to be fixed"

Is the monitor 422 heater considered a direct vent wall heater

Yes, the Monitor 422 heater is direct vent type.

You must install the supplied double-walled vent tube between the heater and outdoors. Failure to properly install the vent tube will quickly deplete oxygen from the space it is operating in. That is a potentially deadly situation.

The pipe is special. The inner pipe is for hot exhaust gasses to be sent outside and the outer walled pipe is for fresh combustion air to be brought into the heater. This set up is why the heater does not create drafts in the home.

Does the Frigidaire FAH106S1T Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner recycle inside air or pull in air from outside? Also, how do I close the vent on this model?

yes it does recycle the inside air - it 'does not' pull outside air in (in the air conditioning mode).
The 'exhaust/outside air' vent - 'if it has one' (some don't these days) will usually be a manual pull/push lever, although I guess it might be a electrical/electronic switch.
hope this has helped.

My amana nde5800ayw has been taking hours to go through a dry cycle. What can I get to fix this. Thanks

If the unit is getting hot then the most common problem is air flow restriction.

Make sure the unit is not pushed to far back against the wall to block or pinch off the ducting, then when the unit is running go outside and find the vent and feel how week or strong the air flow is.

If the air flow is week then you have a restriction some where in the main vent line and needs to be cleaned.

You can use a leaf blower if you have one to stick in the ducting on the inside of the house and blow everything to the outside make sure to remove the outside cover first.

My fridge compartment is warm... frezzer ok, How do I check to see if the fan is operating and how do I check the vents

A refrigerator temperature problem like yours is likely due to one of the following issues. Open the freezer door and listen for the freezer fan, you might have to close the door/light switch to activate the fan. There is a vent at the top of the back wall of freezer, as well as a vent at the top back wall of the fresh food section. Wet your finger and place it in front of either vent and feel for cold air flow. If you dont feel any air flow in the fridge and the freezer fan is running, you will likely have a defrost problem, either the heater, the bi metal t stat, or the defrost control have failed. Any of these will result in frost on freezer back wall. YOu may also have a problem with the damper door in the fridge, again, top back wall, not opening, or on the rare occasion I have seen a slice of wrapped cheese on the floor behind the fresh food crispers covering the warm air return vent to the fridge.

Emerson quiet kool wall air conditioner. Should vent be open to remove humidity?

No - opening the vent will allow unconditioned outside air into the space and add to the humidity load.

Think of it like your car's A/C - when you put the controls to "Max A/C" the system recycles just the air inside the car and doesn't use any outside air. When the control is set to normal A/C, some outside (fresh) air is brought in.

The same thing is true for a window A/C unit. Keeping the vent closed will help the unit de-humidify and cool the air more quickly.

You push it in to recirculate the air, the reason that you are getting that sound when you open up the vent is because you are sucking air from the outside as well as the inside of the home. Please rate

I would check if your vent to the outside is open. If it is I would check the vacum hose that controls the vent to open and close.

Temperature Problem - Amana (Maytag) Refrigerator Model AFD2535DES

This comes with a 1 yr warranty from date of purchase.  Look and see if there is a thick frost buildup on the back panel in the freezer section.  If no frost, shut the freezer door and feel for air flow out of the top middle vent in the fridge section.  I would remove that vent cover to make sure the damper is open.  If the damper is closed push it open then feel for air flow.  If no air flow is detected then the evaporator fan motor is bad which is a very commom problem on this model, in fact the most common problem.  If the damper is shut and when you hold it open you do feel air flow then the damper is bad.  Let me know what you find.
