SD card not registering

I have bought a Sandisk 8gb Ultra 11 SD card to back up the main card but it will not be read by the camera and it comes up as a normal error on disc 2. Have b abought an incompatible card or can I change something on the camera to get it accepted.

You need to first of all, upgrade the firmware in the Sandisk Card (call sandisk support and they will help you out)

2ndly, you need to update your camera's firmware to the latest to support large cards.

I did this and my 1d mkII can now read my 4gb SD

Use only the specified or recommended cf cards, I know ultra fast is not compatible to digicam two or more years older models.

PNY optima sdhchd 8gb won't read in my Kodak easy

What model Kodak EasyShare camera? Some of them only work with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. The same applies to kiosks. Make sure the slot is marked "SDHC' and not simply "SD".

My Samsung Digimax A7 camera will not load memory cards. I insert a card and then turn on the device, which prompts a format for the card then I hit yes, the camera thinks for awhile then just turns off. ...

The Digimax A7 may not be compatible with "High Capacity" SD Cards (SDHC). If this is the case you will need to locate an SD card that is 2GB or less in size as anything larger than this is a high capacity card.

SanDisk ULTRA II 8GB won't read when installed in a laptop. Works fine in the Digital camcorder. Trying to import the footage on to a Fujitsu tablet laptop (12 months old). Reads the standard 2Gb memory...

No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.

There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...

Sandisk sdhc card 4gb my camera says "card error"

Remove the SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card in the camera. But if you've already tried this, see this link for additional things that you can try.

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Regards.

Wanting to see if a certain memory card can be supported.

Based on your camrea's manual (I read it on Kodak's site), your camera will take an SD card so you will most likely be fine as long as you do not use the SDHD type (high density) . The SDHD's store more data and it seems to be newer cameras support this type, not the older. The Ultra II is simply a faster memory than the standard and I believe there is an Extreme type that's even faster. The speed is best when getting images off of the memory card. In camera buffers help get the data to the card. After you aquire one, format it in your camera.

Hp photosmart 2610 won't read my sandisk ultra memory card

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.
