If you have a drain on your battery , it would not take 18 months for the battery to go dead . What do you mean
The battery gauge in the dash shows only about 1/2 power, When ? When the vehicle is running ? Not charging ! The battery gauge as you call it has nothing to do with the Battery . That's showing how much the charging system is putting .The volt's indicator is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . With the engine running should show 14.1 volts .if your only seeing 7 the charging system isn't working. The alternator is controlled by the PCM as well ! Have it check by a GM dealer .
I'd use a couple of resistors representing full and empty. Take connector loose from fuel level sending unit at gas tank, two wires, use resistor between the proper two wires, turn key just to on, you shouldn't have to start it. If gage reacts properly to both resistors, I believe the problem is the sending unit in the gas tank. If it still doesn't function properly, have to check wiring circuits and instrument cluster. The resistor ohms, 16 ohm--and 158 ohms. These are just generic specs.
Some ford instrument clusters can do a self test. The only problem I have is, I don't which years this applies.
With the engine off, depress and hold the odometer reset button. Turn the key to the run position and hold until the gages sweep, within 5--8 seconds. Depress the reset button once to advance to each stage of the self test. Turn the ignition to the off position to exit self test. This test is w/o outside input, so if all gages sweep except the fuel gage, I suspect the instrument cluster has a problem. I'm not sure if your instrument cluster has the self test ability?
First perform an observation of the pwoer charing devcie components. For example, observe the batterie as intact, the cover cases as least compromising the integrity of bateries. Also observe the power charging cables to ascertain that malfunctions are least available disallows full repower charging. Once the observation pahse has been accomplised least attaining any visible malfuncions, re-power charge the device in which instance allow to attain full or extensive power replenishment. Also, at which accomplishment phase, device that least fucntion would require new battery to replace the old. Attain an observation of the feasibility check s on the whole process of reviving the malfunction compared to acquiring a new product. perform compare and contrast prices on the marlket of parts oto resolving the device versus acquring another functioning device.
I have a SENCO FinishPro18 that I inherited from my son when he died a year ago. It has worked fine till now. It does not shoot a nail when depressed against a board and I pull the trigger. I don't hear air leaking, but it seems there is little pressure. Having taken apart the head, then the base, it all seems in good shape. I have not taken apart the trigger assembly, as the removal is a total commitment. Thoughts? I could use some help.
Of course you can use your notebook while it is charging. Just take care from time to time (once a week or once every 15 days) to use it with the battery (no charging) until it will run out of battery. After that charge it full. Doing this you will increase the battery life.
