Fabric softner dispenser

I have a GE profile top load washer. The fabric softner dispenser is caked how do I clean it?

    I tried wiping it clean but when I did the cup fell in and it is a mess and I don't know how to fix the cup.

    No it is inside the whole and it still works. I just really would like to know how to fix it and clean it without it messing up any further

If the fabric softner hose was to come off at the top of the machine would it pour water out the hose during final rinse

Small brush and plain water. Rub, flush, repeat...

If it's clogged where you can't get a brush, pour very hot water into it. Last resort would be blowing it out with an air compressor...

    I would pour very hot water into it -- like microwave a measuring cup of water for 2 1/2 minutes.

You really cant take them apart without breaking the dispensers. Fabric softner is basically wax and fragrance. Add very hot water to the dispenser to melt the fabric softner. In the future, water down the fabric softner.

Clogged fabric Softener
I had the same issue, and ran vinegar through the fabric dispenser with a load of towels. Not only did it solve the 'sour towel' problem I had with that load, it also cleared my fabric softener section. Now, I water down all fabric softner when I use it, which is less frequently!

Kenmore front load washer will not dispense fabric softner
I've had this same problem and solved it by removing the detergent/bleach/softener dispenser drawer from the machine and seriously cleaning out all of the "gunk" from the drawer and from inside the drawer area on washer. Sometimes I have had to repeat the cleaning and then the fabric softener begins dispensing again. I have model # 417.43042200 but it may work on all the Kenmore front loading washers.
