Lexmark Wireless X4850 All-In-One Inkjet Printer Logo

Lexmark X4850 wireless how to make it find the wireless network. I've had this printer working with my Vista laptop till recently; then I moved to another area, configured my new home network and Internet connections, three computers in all and now the printer is the only one that does not recognize the wireless network and of course it doesn't print... I finally connected my computer by USB, reinstalled the software, all looked great when I got "printer added successfully", but when it went to print the test page, a window popped up stating that the printer could not communicate with the computer... So now it won't work in any way with my pc. Installed it on my wife's laptop and it works via USB cable, but still the printer will not recognize the wireless network (router is only 10 feet away). So I need to know how to make the printer recognize the wifi (green light on) and most important, remove the lexmark software completely so I can make a clean installation once more. Spent 3 days with this already and I'm about to throw both printers out the window! Yes, I forgot to mention I have two x4850 printers and I have the same problems with both. Spanish Flyer

If the printer itself is wireless, it does not need to recognize your wireless computer network. Call Lexmark to walk you through proper installation. Lexmark's manuals are not adequate regarding setup, in my opinion.

Have you contacted Lexmark Technical Support? They have a lot of knowledge of different configurations and should be able to assist you. If it's not fixed on your first try, ask to escalate to another level of support. I don't believe you can use it both wirelessly and with cable. I think it's an either/or proposition.

Trying to find the printer drive for a Lexmark X4850 that I can download to printer from an Acer Aspire laptop running Windows 8 64bit

The last operating system that supported that printer was VISTA. You can go to the lexmark site and download that driver and see if it will work with that computer. Even the HCL page for windows doesnt show any information on it and Lexmark says that printer is not in production any more.

Wireless printer communication unavailable via USB

Hi. Hope you got it working fine now on your Windows 7. If not, go to Start Menu > Devices and Printers > right click on the Lexmark print object > Troubleshoot. Make sure the printer is on and is still connected to the computer via the usb cable.

Have you talked with Lexmark Technical Support? I suspect you may have to escalate this beyond level one. Vista on Mac is likely to have issues that differ from other Vista environments.

Lexmark X4850 Wireless wont connect

Had a similar problem with my router, which was a 2WIRE router (furnished by AT&T - I have Uverse). Fixed it by going to the router's GUI (mine is 192.168.1.254), click on "View the home network". On the right side of the resulting screen, there is a section titled "wireless settings". Under that, click on "edit settings". Enter the login information (the default password is on a tag on the router). The next screen is "Configure the Wireless Network". Scroll down to the bottom and click on "Rescan". When I did this, my X4850 miraculously connected and started working.
