Stupid question but I can not find out how to turn on the built-in Web cam. The operating system is VISTA. Thanks
Little more info for novices. Double click zipped driver after download to unzip, then double click webcam driver folder then double click setup icon. Note: vista users right click setup icon run as administrator.

go here pick your model number / operating system. download / save to desktop and install. note vista users right click and run as administrator. and then
1. Click the Windows Start button.
2. Click Control Panel, System and Maintenance and then Device Manager.
3. Right-click on Chicony USB 2.0 Camera and select Update Driver Software. A yellow exclamation point indicates that the camera is recognized by Windows but is not working properly, probably because of problem with the device driver
4. Select Browse my computer for the driver software.
5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select USB Video Device from the list, and click Next.
7. If the message “Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device” appears, click Close.
8. Restart Windows.
this bug is tricky good luck
Move your mouse to the left hand side of the screen and an icon will slide out for the webcam buttons...

I tried that and every time I click where the manual said to click - a box pops up that says you must turn the camera on.
Evidently the driver for the web cam has not been installed. I have not been able to find the download on the internet yet.
toshiba webcam laptop
I have Toshiba Satellite A205-s4577. But the driver for Chicony usb 2.0 camera has stopped working. I try to reinstall it, but it wasn't successful. I think the one way to solve my problem is to reinstall this driver. Unfortunatelly, I can't find this driver anywhere.
