Coby 938 theater system volume

The volume on my theater system will not gradually increase or decrease. If I push the volume down button, the numbers will decrease, but the output will stay the same until it reaches 8 or less and then will mute itself. Then, when I push the volume up button, the volume will return to the exact output no matter the numbers (i.e. 15, 38, 49). Is there a setting I need to change, or a hook up that I did wrong?

The composite output (red, white and yellow) on the directv receiver should connect to the audio in (red and white) on the coby ht system. Then you have to select the correct input on the coby til you here the audio from the DTV receiver

SOURCE: Coby DVD -937 home theater system. Pushed power

Could be that the power button is worn out...it is a common problem with computers as well. They are not wear tested for durability. Some of the reviews i had read concerning the model 937 are not the best, i have just bought a used one myself, and it was only used once..so i was told, however, not all channels working for speakers. The choice is, do you send it in for repair? or just buy a different brand altogether and ship that one back? you need to get estimate from electronic repair as to cost. that is the primary problem,. or could be board is shorted out in unit. in that case, get refund, or if extended warrenty have replaced.

Best of luck....

I have located the volume control button on my monitor but every time i pres it it decreases the volume. I need to Increase the volume not decrease it. Help

You've failed to mention the make/model of your monitor. There should not be a single button for volume control, as volume control is either up or down. Try the button above the one you've been pushing.

Hi there,

You need to select the source of your home theater system. Press <SOURCE> on the home theater remote to switch between DVD, TUNER, and LINE modes. Select LINE, then you should now hear audio from your TV, Please make sure that your TV is not muted, just increase the volume until you hear audio on home theater. Also increase the volume of your home theater.
